I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can anyone recommend a quality super loud horn to put on my 1980 GS1000S? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Just go to your local Wal-Mart, Auto Zone or other favorite auto parts store. Get a pair of the Highway Blasters, one high tone, one low tone. Also get one of their cube-type fog light relays. Total bill will be about $30-35. Use the original horn wires to trigger the relay. Run a 12-gauge wire from the battery to the relay, and another wire from the relay to each horn. Make sure the horns are grounded, enjoy the noise. \\:D/

I dont have a horn on my bike, But Im thinking of trying to get a plymouth road runner horn that goes beep beep to put on. I do have an ahooga horn, but its too big.

I'll second the Stebel Nautilus. It's INCREDIBLY LOUD !!:shock::shock: Even the Harley rider in front of you will hear that horn.... Do run a relay though - it pulls 18 amps.8-[

I was thinking about that horn and wondered what it was like.
Of course the Harley rider, going forty mph and 55mph zone won't give a rat's ass and you'll have to pass him (or twenty of "him") anyway!

Thanks for the review.

it is alsao available as the Wolo bad boy and is available from northern tools or harbor freight as well as many auto parts stores.

I have one on my 83 1100E and also put one on my car, very loud.

things that make you go..hmmmmmm...

Buy a Car Alarm Horn

Buy a Car Alarm Horn

Hook a car alarm horn up to your horn wiring and power source and you have one very loud siren like wail that gets instant attention.

I thought that was in that other thread..........the pillion seat vibrator????:-D

Stebel Nautilus Compact

Stebel Nautilus Compact

So after some reading this seems to be the horn to go with (Stebel Nautilus Compact) for my 81 GSX750E. Anyone have any complaints? And does anyone know where to get the best price here or shipped here Vancouver BC Canada.

I have no idea, but I also live in Vancouver and am riding a 1981 GSX750E.

:-D

californiasporttouring.com and twistedthrottle.com have pretty good prices. i heard rumors that there was a ebay store that had them cheap plus the wiring kit came with it.

keep in mind it is kind of big little smaller then a soda can so make sure you have a place to mount it.

i could hide mine in the SV's fairing, but it would be harder to find a spot on my gs1000.

bikerhighway.com also includes a free wiring kit with fuse, relay, etc. i found a coupon when I purchased mine, so the shipping was free as well!:-D

It IS a big honkin' horn. Pun intended.8-[

Mine is mounted to my engine guard on the footpeg bolt, facing forward, which looks pretty ghetto.... but I don't care - I just wanted the loudest horn I could get my hands on, and it IS that.
In retrospect, I should have ordered the chrome model... I'll upload a pic of the install later, if this coffee does its job....

If you have more patience than I do, you can fab a simple bracket and mount it where the oil cooler would go, near the top of the frame, behind the forks. Mind that this horn needs to be mounted near vertical per the manufacturer's instructions, to ensure long life of the compressor. I found this to be the biggest limiting factor to a stealthy installation.

It's actually a little smaller than TWO soda cans. ;)

CRC2 sells a replacement horn for $11 that's WAAAAY louder than stock -- I've got one on both my bikes and I've woken up a few dozing minivan pilots on the way to work. It also works well to get the attention of wandering cell phone yappers. Got one guy to drop his phone...

It pretty much mounts and plugs in exactly like your old horn, although it's a little bigger around than some stock horns.
