may stud up a 750 GS if the stuff does not sell.

and go the radar drags next month in mukwango ... we got an invitation and Tony is talking about running the Hayabusa.

YEE HAWW -- how did I ever get into ice racing?

Drat global cooling.

Time to resurrect this thread... We made it thru a 80 inch winter. Now its time to get back to Union Grove and have some fun... Later this month is the first bracket races. It should be as much fun as last year...If you live local, and I know there are a few, come by on one of the bracket weekends and introduce yourself. Trip and I will probably be next to the blue barn...

garage party!

garage party!

ok I'll be doing my 3rd annual in home garage burnout -- Since the wife and I moved up here and bought this house, I do a big stinky burnout in the entrance to my garage at the start of racing season. A 9 inch wide black stripe right in the middle of the floor of MY GARAGE--and it makes me smile on rainy days.

I think I am going to get another whole season out of this Hoosier -- car tires are cheaper and last longer. I remember buying 2 MT 7"ers a season when I ran a small tire chassis.

Same same as last year 9:35 range nothing special not trying a new combination . slow and easy - wins a bracket race

Thanks for putting them up. Great sounds, including the Harley.
Loved the commentary on the first one...."come on, Curt...fvck...i don't think we took that one".

He is a good buddy... But I think he has Parkinsons. Lots of shaking... Nope, it was the cold weather.

It was really cold. plus a 25~20 mph head wind .. Had 9:56 on the dial all day and I ran low 9:57 range.

No practice at all  first 5 laps I have made this year.

2.4 seconds to a Hayabusa with you in the low 9's? You would win anyway but that bike must have had a horrible rider. A Hayabusa should be capable of high 9's at least.

i am curious to the photo where the bike is bridging. what is the cause and how do you fix it? would like to know more about this, my 78 1000 is strutted but i havent got bars yet, but would like to know all i can before i take the plunge. thanks
matt

and btw thank goodness that spring is here and we can get to the track!!! this winter makes the laps even sweeter!!!! glad u boys up in the great white north are thawed out and playing as well!!!

Oh yeah, he was much faster than the dial he used. I mean he was out in front of me 40 maybe 50 feet at the 1000' -- I was looking right at him, he looked at me and hit the brakes - so I stayed tucked under the bubble and held the throttle wide open - he broke out holding too much time / took too much stripe. . sandbagging takes practice and you MUST have the better reaction time.

bridging? once you figure out the exact rear tire pressure your bike hooks with - lift the wheelie bar height . I like to see some daylight under the front wheel 1.5 ~ 2 inches max.

Test and tune at the Grove tomorrow evening... 75 degrees and dry I hope...

1st procedure is to have enough horse power to pull a slick when you throw the clutch out.
this is a rude awakening for most people trying a slick and bar for the 1st time..
hard on the rider and engine when the bike just shuts off and stops dead in it's tracks..not good!

I can dream, can't I? I know I have a little too much, but it runs consistent the way it is... Will lower it as the season moves forward...
And the way to warm up the street tire is hold the front brake, makes sure the tire is wet, ring the tach up to 6000 and let the clutch fly. Count to 8 for a street tire. If its done right, you should have some traction. If not, take the plunge and get a small slick. By the way, how much horsepower?

I went to Orlando Speed World Saturday with the GS set up with the delay box and slider 1st pass was a hand full or I should say I should not have had a hand full of throttle it went skyward twice. I had the slider set up a little to aggressive for my 64'' W/B so I took a washer off of each arm to 10 grams and it worked great I got a 1.58 60' went a 10.69 @ 119mph we had a 20 mph head wind and everyone was running .20 and about 6 mph slower. So I was pleased with how the bike ran. Just not pleased with how I did. I completion I decided to take an extra .018 out of the box and ended up red lighting with a -.012 then I bought back in and I just can't get a break from the gramlins they ripped the double face tape on my shift minder and shoved it in between my triple tree and the gas tank so when I turned the handle bars and crushed it so when I staged the shift light decided to start flashing on and off. I looked down for one second and when I look up my second bulb was already on and I am done for the day.
I really like this set up I am using on this street bike for bracket racing. After I got the slider set up correctly I made 6 passes and all the 60' times are between 1.58 and 1.61 and four of them were 1.59's. I had a 10.73 dialed because two of the passes were 10.72 two were a 10.74 with two passes at 10.69.
I have me a pretty good no bar street tire pro et bike now. That can be switched back to street duty in about one hour. I did this so I can race while I am putting my Pro Et bike together which is taking a lot longer than
Now I need to step up my game and win a couple of these events.
