A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Sunrise / Sunset Rides

Reviewed pics from yesterday, and now like this one better.
Maybe "sunset" not so apparent.

i'm pretty sure that's pollution j. but still purty.
I wonder where it could be from if it was?... There is no industry... All I got is Adirondacks for 100+ miles upwind... We do have some wierd overlaying wintery looking clouds move in last night. Too warm to snow though.

You guys get smoked yet over there?

At that high altitude, probably dust, or maybe leaf burning smoke. It was choking us last weekend, no wind so it just hung over the ground for days.

Over that geography , I suspect it could be THIS???:p

Somebody stumbled across that in wiki a long time ago and mentioned it on other site.
Yep actually still there.
Ever since I'm a bit skeptical of all the foreign made firework displays on July fourth each year...
very weird information.

Cool pink sky. sky, sunset/rise pics Never seem to capture all the color for some reason.

Went out into the garage last night after work to warm up the bike and take a sunset ride. The bike was too cold to start, it just barely turned over. With a fully charged battery it still sounded weak and barely cranked. I put a space heater next to the engine for a half hour and then it cranked and fired up. I'm going to do the ignition relay mod, hopefully that solves the issue there. Anyone else experience this?

I was able to get in a 25 mile ride in the cool 30 degree evening and realized my Joe Rocket dry tech neoprene type gloves with thin liners are not nearly warm enough. After twenty minutes my hands were screaming, TURN AROUND! It's hard for me to hang on to the grips with thick ski or snowboard type gloves, which is what I've used in the past. Have to find some winter riding gloves now. Does anyone have any recommendations?

That's a bummer...and odd that the engine was that cold. I keep mine in our two-car garage up against the wall closest to the inside of the house. I've had the battery tender connected to strengthen the battery and she cranked...I have to check fuel line/fuel filter/petcock/carbs for firing up!

Winter riding here in the tri-state area around this time can be a freezing experience. I put on thin layers (3 long sleeve shirts plus jacket w/liner) and thin thermal long johns with a pair of jeans. I have a set of leather chaps I bought from MrBill which really make a difference shielding the cold air. I also have a set of winter gloves that aren't too cumbersome but effective. I don't remember the brand but I'll have a look.

Thanks for your reply Ed. I went ahead and started another thread in order not to hijack this one.

I had the battery tender plugged in up until right before I started it.
