Man, superbike bars are the greatest! The clubmans are what hurts. Anyway, it's all water under the bridge now, Stage V is finished.
I'll post pics later.

Painted front fender, chrome pipe. Clubmans would kill me. I'd have to stick with the superbike bars. I love the spokes! Maybe drill the rotors or go with the newer OEM ones(along with the newer calpiers)?

You've done alot of nice work! :-D

Thanks. :-D
The front fender will end up painted someday. The stock chrome pipes are back on it now. The Clubmans were fun, and looked cool...But I'm simply too old to do the "primate copulating the pigskin thing".
Superbike bars are back on it. Also kept the spokes.

Here's another cool trick I figured out. I lowered the headlight/fairing/signal combo a few inches by swapping the headlight mounting brackets from one side to the other. Really helps the whole thing flow a little better.

I have some drilled rotors, but frankly nothing looks more "old school" to me than solid rotors. :-D

Call me strange, but I think cast wheels look much better than spokes.

What's up with all the lust for spoked wheels, innertubes, and all the associated heavy wobbly rusty retro-ness?

Spokes all the way!

Spokes all the way!

Looks awesome man. I would love to find a set of cheap spokes for mine. Ive seen a couple of sets on ebay but just never pulled the trigger since i was worried about loosing the rear disk brake. Did the rear disk brake assembly bolt up or did you have to mod. to fit. The front faring looks sweet. Is that an airtech front cowl? Does it ride any different with the mags vs the spokes

Keep up the good work!

I've seen your bike, it looks great! Spokes would really finish the look you have going.

The spoke rims I used are off a 78 GS1000. The only thing that had to be changed were the rear wheel bearings. The sprocket carrier, spacers, and the caliper mount all fit. The front wheel is a straight bolt on.

The fairing is a cheap ebay unit with some creative paint work.

Sweet! Will the rims off most of the 750's bolt right up as well?

I have been looking at that same faring on ebay, the one for like 40 bucks right? - i just didn't think it was actually that big. It looks just like the one on the airtech site which is way more expensive.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to start searching for some rims:-D

I was enjoying Stage II, and I think that if you put the cast wheels back on the bike and painted it body color with the fender painted the contrasting color (or vice versa) it would look awesome!

Of course, the bottom line is that you should set it up the way YOU like it best ... it really doesn't matter what WE think ... we'll do our bikes OUR way!

Lookin good regardless, Jeff!

Regards,

I'm would think that they would. Check the part # on bike bandit (or whatever) to see if the hub is the same. You will still have to swap the rear bearings though.

Thanks, I'm just bored and wanted to look at something else for a change.

Of course once I get all three of my "winter projects" started, I might leave the 550 alone. :-D

What would look really cool, IMO, would be to swap in those "three spoke" cast wheels that everybody except us got. I think Suzuki eventually sold them in the U.S. on later models, but it's a nice departure from what you normally see here!
