A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The GS Resources GS

I sounds like before we settle on the final scheme we we could benefit from the services of a photoshop guru. That definitely am not me.
...

While it is defiantly NOT a GK I still think my 85 750 looked pretty nice completely yellow. That being said the GK has even more area to be yellow:eek:

Wow, the above red stripes are nice... Would that go with the brown seat? Don, I was thinking the same thing about photoshop.

I don't know if it would be of use, but I can donate a turn signal cancel unit from my 79 850.....

Yeah it needed something and the red seemed to do it.Does anything go with a brown seat?

The wheels certainly do add a lot to the overall look of that bike.

I lean toward a yellow and black scheme myself. But there is something that has to be considered. I have the original GK double bucket seat which is brown. It is in very good shape and Frank may prefer it to the plain G seat that I have on it now. Just throwing in more food for thought.

...

Yes.

Good. That goes along with the idea of keeping it fairly stock form/appearance.
(which I personally think it should if representing the forum.)

I have a stock black GK seat, where the vynal and the insides are very good, but the pan is rusted (in front where the mounting is). I could contribute that.
If that is decided, I can look into what it takes to swap it out (or maybe someone else already knows).

That is something I've been wanting to learn how to do. If you could post up a good side shot view something like Gregs I'll see what I can find out...........

Speaking of which:
If a person has some service or parts to offer/contribute, should they contact Don pepe or Frank administrator, or should they post here or post elsewhere....?

Should people somewhere offer what they think they can offer..... or will someone list what is needed....?

Or maybe the project has not progressed to that point yet. (or maybe there is another thread somewhere.)

One possibility might be to have someplace, somewhat private, that folks can offer whatever services or parts they can contribute, say email or PM, and then whoever is working/organizing/determining the progress of the project can contact them as the need arises.

I have some photo-manipulation skills (Paint.net, not photoshop).
Seems that changing the color from dark brown/ light brown 2 tone to a solid yellow, and have some sense of the contours, would be way above my rudimentary skill level.

I would be doing good to draw in some crude striping that somewhat follow a stock scheme.
har har har get the bike painted the base yellow. then put it all together. then take photo. then can draw in various options for striping har har har

Speaking of which: I could contribute photos of stock 82 striping.

Does the K denote the luggage and fairing package ?
In the case of the GS1100GK, yes, it does.

That's why I have the quotes around it for "Junior" in my signature. :encouragement:
At only 850cc, it's like having a Junior-sized 1100GK.

Yes. As Steve said.

Although, not really a "package".
GK, is 1100GK. Available 82-83-84.
Is from factory that way (not dealer add on).

GK Did not sell well, I gather.
I have seen that Magazines of the day were not too positive about them. Some actually recommended getting 1100G and adding own aftermarket fairing and bags that were available at the time (Vetter, Krauser and such).

And of those GK that did sell, many were dee-Kayed (my word) in later years, either by crash damage or some new owner just didn't want all that stuff.

Aaarrgh !! This is getting frustrating. I can get purple, green, and gold. But the bright yellow is eluding me........
Started with this red one.

Pretty good.
That all exceeds my capabilities.

But here is something of what a solid colored GK will look like.

Maybe between the two of us we can accomplish the goal. I need to find a another pic that hasn't had the details enhanced as much as this one has. And then figure out this damned yellow thing.....
