    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

cleaned up switch controls, also at this stage I was fighting with the wiring, and I wont bore you with the details of that...but lets just say everything was completely rewired (soldered and heat shrinked cause im anal like that). I used a unified solid state r/r, and put the starter on a more modern solenoid, and used a relay to power teh headlights and such.

sure i made em all....the main hoop is part of an ifs toyota truck torsion bar that i heated with a torch...and the mount for the battery box is a u bolt for a leaf sprung toyota (seeing a pattern here ive had way many toyota 4x4's) and the actual box is just angle iron that i cut up and formed a box around the dementions of the battery.

Love that blue that was on the SV donor fender that you have in the first pic. I plan on painting my 700EF that color someday and mix it with that charcoal grey that Jwhelan65 used on his calipers for his 700 rebuild. The pic of the bike with the the tank in red and just the wheels reminds me of the TZ250 Jwhelan65 picked up. ;)

Looks great.. my only criticism is that you should have started with a 750 or 1100 tank as they are much more common & sold your 1000 one to someone like me :D Those tanks are kind of rare. :)

you know...if i would have known that I sure would have done that..but at the time, I had no clue what I had. Oh well...live an learn.

Yep live & learn :)

I suspect the money you could have got for that tank would have probably bought you an 1100 tank & a new rear tyre to boot (i.e. you'd probably be $150+ up on the deal) :)

That is outright mean looking. I don't really care for the lil bubble tails usually, but I think it works for your project.
