If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Allright brozeph...im off like a dress on prom night...gotta get crackin and wrenchin early since we have so short days anymore...Stupid daylight savings time. Its gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

No sh!t I hate daylight saving time its killing my wrench time.... Don't worry you ain't offending anyone in this thread. Damn near everything I say is politically incorrect anyways. Laters man and I'm crossin mah fingers for ya

Hell yeah your package came in today. I was as giddy as a school girl waiting for the UPS dude to bring it to my door. The bars a beautiful and the crash bars are in tons better condition then you were leading on. BUT I don't think they're gonna work. They just don't fit unless I'm doing something wrong. But yeah no holes line up at all. I dunno I'm gonna try a few more fitments and see where it gets me. If there's no hope I guess I'll leave em in the shed til the day I get a 750 or 850

Im pi$$ed. My parts STILL arent here. I just tracked them via fedex website and they havent updated it since the 22nd. Bullsh!t! Grrr.

Just checked tracking again...not gonna be here till tomorrow..bummer. But i have Thursday off too..

That sucks.... friggin sprockets are still not here..... AH DAMNIT I just checked bikebandit's site. They're BARELY shipping out right now. I bought them on the 18th. I got the bars on and all the crap attached to it... Superbike bars really do make the bike LOOK alot better

PICS MAN!! This is the first time ive bought from bikebandit, not real impressed with thier shipping time. (my stuff is coming from there too) I think if Z1 has it, i just go with them from now on.

For sure pics will be up. But the stupid batteries are dead. I'll pick some up tomorrow. BTW the bars are in GREAT shape they really do look very nice..... Yeah bikebandit's shipping time is ridiculous but meh I guess what can you expect for 6 bucks. And to top it off they're not even sending the nut for the sprocket either cuz its on order from Suzuki or something..... Well I've finally done it. I hacked into the seat. I've been putting it off since forever because... well becuase I didn't want to screw up. But today I was feeling brave so I took off the fabric cover and started chopping into it. And then I started cutting up the seat pan.

Basically I'm gonna kinda mod it to look like this
Seat-1.jpg

Only its not gonna be as pretty or curvy, but its gonna have the same basic shape and probably the same type of fabric....

Its that or I'll cover it in something like this :-s:-D

Going for the gunfighter seat huh? That ought to look pretty sharp! Glad the bars worked out! they are in good shape, look pretty new, but not my style..maybe in ten more years when my back is telling me clubmans and clipons are a no no ill get myself a set! lol

Pretty much its too cover up all the nasty-ness of the rear crossmember and and the plastic inner rear fender. The small rear portion will do that nicely and eventually if I want to carry a passenger I can. Hopefully it comes out looking good I'll post up progress pics...... Yeah and my back is already telling me no clubman's or clip ons.... Heavy lifting (I.E. engines, cinder blocks. roofing shingles etc etc) will do that too you

Ahhh i dont miss humping shingles at all. Ran my own remodel company for a few years and did roofing on the side to help a buddy out and get some extra cash (he paid me quite well) but you wont catch my old arse humpin them ever again.

You trying to mount them to the motor mounts?? Thats where i think they are supposed to mount...but then again the mounts on a 550 are prolly very different.

Yeah I promised myself I would never roof again. I did it for a while because I was working with an uncle who did all sorts of handyman jobs on top of being a mechanic.... Ha who would've figured that I would start out with mechanics and then eventually learn construction, plumbing, drywall, roofing, painting and just about everything else needed to build my own house... Well all of that except for electrics. And yeah the remodeling business makes pretty good cash down here. I think when my brother gets out of high school we may do that for a while when I'm still in college just to get some cash-ola

Yup that's what I'm trying. And it ain't working. They're obviously meant for a wider engine I thought they were gonna work but nah I don't think they are. Ah well I'm gonna try sparcers tomorrow see where that gets me. If not I can put them on hold and try to make my own.... I've seen pipe benders go for pretty cheap and I can pick up a cheap welder for christmas

Electric in a house is monkey work. Once you figure out multiple leg switches it really is easy, just a lot of tedious work. I redid a 3 story 100 yr old house over on the west side of Dayton. I did all the electric in it from the weatherhead, meter socket, new 200 amp box and all thru the house. over 3000 ft of wire. (shhhh im not legal, but the owner pulled the permit) On inspection (the owner also told the inspector they did the work as they are allowed to on thier own home) The inspector said it was the best work she'd ever seen from a non-licensed electrician...how bout that? lol

Well when I build my own house I'll know who to call.... I was actually offered a chance to apprentice under a master electrician. He was a buddy of the uncle I was working for. Looking back I shoulda done it. After two years I think I would've had a journeyman's license. And I coulda made some pretty good cash while going to school. The guy was pretty good too. A bit cocky though. He knew he was so good most times he wouldn't bother to turn the power off. He somehow never shorted anything or jolted himself. Rather amazing if you ask me

Man i just found out something sweet...The starter clutch assbly and starter motor out of that 80 are exact matches to the one in my 77..thats sweet cos the starter clutch in my 77 is shot..not that it matters much cos its still got a kick, but it would be nice not to have to kick it unless i want to. lol

Pretty badass. Extra parts that actually fit are always good.... How I envy kickstarters. Ah well at least I got electronic ignition

Thats on the list of stuff too..Dyna will be coming prolly very very soon. I think its my next big expense, that and new coils.

And dont envy it too much..since she hasnt been running right, if she sits for more than a day without running shes a cold blooded b1tch to kick..it will wear your arse out and beat the snot out of your shin too..but i have a feeling now that she's not flooding anymore and i got things sorted in the carb dept she's going to be alot easier to start.

I'm would also be kicking over 200 CCs less than you are. Still waiting on the baffle right? So you can sync the carbs?
