A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yup will be here tomorrow for sure according to fedex. Hopefully have them synced by the weekend. Then hopefully take her out for a shakedown and see where im sitting as far as the needle possition and mixture screws go, and hope i dont need too much tweaking. but i think i should be JUST about there. I hope..lol After that, it will be time to get the Dyna sorted, and then prolly break her down to start re-paint, powdercoat and general cleaning up. Wiring will be done over this weekend too. I figure by February i should be just about done, untill i find a nicer looking motor to drop in her. Gonna get an aluminum boxed swingarm to put on her too, but that can maybe wait till the spring.

I THINK that any swingarm you find, you're gonna have to chop down to work. Your best bet will be to talk to 80GS1000 about the whole thing. He's done it. I bet he can give you measurements on how wide an aluminum swingarm is at the pivot. Then you can measure and compare on your own. I think at best you're gonna just end up having to chop on down. I doubt by much prolly a few millimeters

Actually ive already found out that a 83 and up 750 boxed swingarm will swap with just drilling out the mount holes for the bigger bolts. One of the guys on here who just re-did his 750B (saving Grandpa GS) did it and thats all he had to do aside from purchasing eye/eye shocks instead of the eye/clevis mount. But again..first things first..i could spend an eternity tweaking and tricking, i just want her to run and ride with what she's got now and worry bout "lighten-ing" her up later.

I'm lightening as I go! Removing all the useless stuff, Or actually not putting it back on

Hey what model were those crash bars off of? An 850?

an 80 750E. Ive pretty much removed everything that i can..not much left i DONT need..lol I need to either find a center stand or buy a bike jack..i got fork boots to put on but cant take my forks off untill i have something to prop her up with. Yikes...i didnt realize what time it is..i gotta hit the rack my friend. I'll hit ya up tomorrow and get some pics of those bars on your bike! i wanna see!

Peace and Grease :)

SQUIRREL NUTS! I was hoping that 750 bars were gonna be my ticket. Alright pal I'll talk to ya tomorrow. Pics'll be on their way!

Sorry buddy no pics today. I got back home after it was already dark out

S'ok...better see some soon tho demmit. Got my baffle today..was suprised to learn it came already wrapped! Sweet butter. Off tomorrow, and i shall put everything back together and fire her up...carbs need synced but she should still start since i benched them first. Im excited. I cant wait to hear what this pipe sounds like when its the way it was designed to be.

Pretty damn badass. My saddlebags come in tomorrow. Hopefully there'll be a Christmas miracle and the sprocket will come in also.... The bike is so close I can taste the end now. Pics tomorrow for sure. But I'm off to bed for now. I haven't had sleep in a few days. God durn finals. Which by the way I aced one of them... To bad its only lik 15% of the final grade

Separate note.... DUDE do you know how much batteries cost nowadays? It cost me 5.50 for a 4 pack from Best Buy. Fuggen highway robbery. I dunno if its Post Black Friday mark up or what but I was ****ed and I couldn't justify stopping at another store wasting gas and time just to save a few bucks on batteries so I ground my teeth and forked up the cash for them

UGH...what a crock..time for some rechargeables...sleep well bro and good job on your finals! if ya pop on later ill prolly be home and BSing around...off tomorrow and ill prolly spend some time tonight setting things up for a quick work jobbie tomorrow so i can spend more time on the bike.

ERRR stupid insomnia..... I couldn't keep my eyes closed so I took a few sleeping pills. Now to just kill time till they kick in..... Are you running turn signals on your cafe?

Yeah..thats something i have yet to figure out. I have the mounts for the front sigs, just dunno bout the back...might wait till i have my cafe seat on there and run teardrops or whatever they call them that mount to fairings on newer bikes for my back ones..gets some lil bullets for the front. I dunno..i havent found anything i like so far. I want lil ones, not ones that stick out in the wind.

Same here. Been looking on fleabay for some. They have some really good looking ones on the cheap. The only problem is that I want have running lights. And for them to work right I need to get dual filament bulbs. Those are considerably more expensive that single filament bulbs

Yeah that bites there...im not too worried about running lights, just dont want to be running from jonnie law when he tries to pop me for no signals...ive used my hand signals and i have gotten away with it so far, but here if it came with signals from the factory, it has to have them. He'd have to prove it, but that would just **** him off more, and i doan need that kinda flack.

Hell if I know what the laws are here in Texas about all that bull but lord knows the cops don't give a rat sh!t. I could probably ride around naked flipping people the bird and as long as my plate is good I'd get away with it..... I want running lights for my own peace of mind. I think they'll make it easier to spot my mostly black bike in the middle of the night

hey for the rear of you bike cafe , I'd just drill into the frame stubs and mount em in like that.

or maybe get some nice dual element ones in red and use em as stop and turnsignal for the rear :)

That may be the way i go...i kinda like the side mount tail light..but the more i look at it, the more i think it wont fit when its done. SO i may do just what you suggested.

Alright fellas, im heading home from work..be back on in about 30min...see ya then and we shall contemplate all that is modded and GS. .

look for harley nightster rear signals as they are what i was talking about :)
