Cool thanks for the tip. How hard is it to get off.
essh Id have to look but if your motor is the same is mine break out your manual cos you have to get past the clutch adjuster i think. Not positive cos i havent even looked on mine yet, i remember taking the clutch adjust cover off and i think that you have to to get the sprocket cover off. The KZ was cake, so getting it off shouldnt be a prob, getting the bolts loose can me a bit of a pain but if you have an impact driver you should be good. I think you take both the clutch adjustment cover off which has two screws inside that you have to look for, and then swing that out of the way then take the sprocket cover off...ive not gotten that far so i dunno if its just right under the sprocket cover or not. Probably so. If it is you'll prolly have to take a flat head and smack down a bolt holder plate. its just a plate with an edge bent up to keep the bolt from spinning out. then its cake from there.

I just looked in my clymers and it looks like it will be a pretty easy project. I hope I can get it done on my lunch break tomorrow.

yeah its not hard, its just a matter of getting things that havent been in a long while loose. The sprocket change itself is cake.

ehhh...oh another tip...loosen your chain adjusters so you can push the rear wheel up as far as it will go to get the chain tension off the sprocket, no twisty twisty...and dont EVER say that again :P

We'll just checked how loose my chain was and was able to move it about # 1/2 inches which I think is way to loose

Actually i think 1/2 inch is recommended...it is on the KZ but thats a 530 chain...or maybe its 1/4 inch of play in the bottom side...id have to look at the manual. That isnt really that much play...

RIOT! zoot suit style...Got those gauges today man...they are gonna work out great. Wont be able to visually hit the TON...but ill know it when i feel it...lol I didnt get yours out this morning tho :( We had a poweroutage last night and i woke up late as FVCK for work...i was like a half hour late...and im the MOD so thats a NO NO...Will get them out tomorrow FOR SURE.

one small step for cafe kind....

one small step for cafe kind....

Ok so update...today i got a little rambunctious and took the tank that i just traded some gs1100 gauges for, and i made an attempt at pounding knee inserts.....lets just say, its not as scary as you think...either that or i got lucky. I couldnt be happier with how easy it went...the metal bent just where i wanted it to, and the one side ( i only have one side done so far,) turned out pretty damn good. lil bondo to smooth it out and i had a dog and his name was BINGO!

Kick ass man. Hopefully you didn't throw away the envelope with the money inside. Those gauges should work great. A good cleaning will go a LONG way. And trust me when I say good I MEAN GOOD lol

More good news \\:D/. Maybe one day I'll get ambisceous(sp for sure) as you and pound away at my tank. But right now I have to much body work invested in this one

already done....btw PB Blaster is a great plastic restoritive...lol they look brand new...i dunno if im gonna keep the dummy lights or not, still debating, looks good without, and looks good with. Just will depend on how much electrical crap i wanna rewire. No i got the envelope, thanks bro! Your stuff will go out UPS tomorrow for sure. I was scurrying to get to work this morning, my DM was going to show up and im never late, and of course the one day hes there im late...heh such is my life. Theres a UPS store right next door to the work, so they'll be on their way.

Cat's ass.... I gotta try that PB blaster for restoring plastic.

BTW
1.I been meaning to ask where did you get the spoked rims that are on your cafe? They look good

2. The splined shaft that the front sprocket is on, is there a washer or something that's supposed to go between the sprocket and the nut that holds it on?
Mine has too much play and it's making me worry. Not to mention I looked at it again and I DEFINITELY need a new one. All of the teeth turned into hooks.... Damn thing

Lemme consult the Clymer...there should be a plate that has one edge bent up to keep the bolt from spinning off but after that im not sure...ive only had to replace the one on my lil KZ and it was totally cakeass...get with you in a jiff on that.

Those are stock...with a shat ton of rustoleum black on em...hard as a rock, and ive even spilled brake fluid on em, which is a sure paint eater...and thanks :) I like em i kinda think it sets off the bike more than the tank and seat on some cafe bikes. Ive seen some sweet spoke set ups...One i like em blacked out, two i dont have the patience to polish chrome ones all the damn time :)
