A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

There is only one way to do maintenance

Don't know about you but I have had enough of grovelling on the ground trying to work on the bottom of the bike. Sump plugs.. what a pain in the ass.

Cleaning wheels.. another reasons. And just plain looking at them... you find yourself look at the bike from angles you never have before... and that is cool.

Yes I made a bike workshop stand... and YES it is supper cool. Cant believe I have waited this long to make one.

Worth every effort. Beats the China made option.

Are those PINT bottles? You can get them in PINTS? Yes, a look at plans would be nice.

Just changed oil in the 650 on the floor because I was too lazy to move bikes areound to get it on the lift.....

What a pain in the butt that was!

Yeah, got plans?

Right after I make the stand for assembling my engine cases, a bike lift is on the project list.

I've seen similar to what you've made on the interwebs, but that is sure a nice concept for chocking the front wheel!

*****edit******

Similar enough to get you started on making your own variant.

Lion Red's my guess.
Approx 2.5 pints / bottle is my other guess.

Mmm, wire spoke wheels...

Nice lift too.

Love the bike, love the stand, curious about what the green tailed bike is in the front?

Plans would definitely be nice, although I don't really have space for a stand at the moment...

My Wife bought me that harbour freight lift last xmas. Yes its not as good as the ones that cost alot more but for home use its just fine. I like it a lot only paid the 299 but did get the extended warranty.I would recommend it for those who wouldn't take on building one themselves or spending 1500+ on the industrial grade one.

One more vote for the HF unit. Love it. I used it to install the new water heater for the house as well.
