A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey all,

I recently purchased my first bike, a 1982 GS750T. I've been doing some work on it to try and get it working (stopped starting up soon after purchase) and noticed that this rubber piece fell off of it. Might anyone here know where it belongs?

Thanks!

If you have a really little knee, it might be a pilot jet stopper inside the carbs?

It looks kind of small but maybe the center stand bumper/stop.

Seat rubbers are usually rectangular (#2 in this pic):

I'm going with the stand bump stop.

Two questions.
1.Does it have a hole all the way through it?
2. If so, did you have the tank off recently?
If the answer is yes to both, well maybe it's #10. http://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d400b9f8700230d8b4e34e/fuel-tank-model-z

I did recently take the tank off! I didn't see a better way to get to the two inner spark plugs...also I chose to empty out the gas the...most obvious way for a motorcycle noob with a socket wrench. I do believe it's item 10 in the picture, thank you for your help everyone!!

No idea, but welcome. By chance did you nab that beautiful T that was on CL recently?

Yup, that's my bike :D Started up great when he showed it to me when I initially checked it out and when I came to pick it up. Unfortunately, I've only gotten it started once since I've brought it home. It "cranks", but it won't start up. So far I've changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, and switched out the gas. No luck getting it going yet, but I checked the voltage coming from the battery yesterday and it seemed low...so I'm trickle charging that and have ordered a new battery.

I went to a bike repair shop and the guy gave me attitude about it being a "antique bike". I figured if he didn't want to work on it, I'd figure it out myself and learn a bunch in the process! :)

Congrats on a beautiful bike. Most big shops wont touch old bikes. Your best bet is to learn yourself as you mentioned. This a great spot for assistance.
