    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

    Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

    So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This is a minor little item but I cant believe the difference it has made. I have been having a minor vibration problem on the throttle side. Around town it isn't a big deal but on any sustained ride of over half an hour it was murder on my throttle hand. It would go numb and be quite painful. I picked up a throttle assist (or throttle rocker) for under 12.00. What a difference! Those longer rides are a dream now. My throttle hand is relaxed and comfortable during rides. I can't believe I've been riding so long without one. By far the best $12.00 I've spent on the bike.
 
I have a removable one.
It came with my "other" bike.
It does slip a little, just a minor adjustment.
Seems to be ok, maybe I'll get used to it.
 
Skip let me borrow his last year at the Southeastern Rally. I bought an adjustable one as soon as I got home. I use it all the time. It takes a bit to get used to at first, especially around town, but its great if you do any highway travel.;)
 
What I use is a whole lot cheaper, and safer. I screw a hose clamp around the inside part of the grip so the metal strip coming out of the screw is on the underside of the grip and facing me. I just wedge my thumb up against it and relax my hand. You can also hook the screw part with your glove. There are at least a couple of possibilities.

I like the throttle rocker okay, but I would never use it in traffic or around town. You have to be careful to not let it get in the way when you need to shut off the throttle in a hurry. The hose clamp does not present any such problem. Also, once you have it situated in the right position for your riding it does not slip.
