A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

OK I get the sizes 3.25 x 19 or 90/90 and
3.75 x 18 or 110/90??? HOWEVER!!! I just can't FIND anything for tires.

Little help here! I don't want to pay an outrageous price but they are the only thing between me and the road so I'm totally reasonable too!

Anyone?

Peace
Peewee

What are your actual rim sizes?

Is the front a 1.85 and the rear a 2.15?

You can look on the rims and see where the sizes are cast in there. Might be near the valve stem, might be near the hub.

I just looked up the front wheel on a parts fiche and verified that it is a 1.85x19.
You should be able to increase your chances of finding a tire if you move up to a 100/90-19.
The larger tire will also remove most, if not all, of the speedometer error.

If your rear wheel is a 2.15, you can look for 110 or 120/90-19.

Fixed it for you Steve.:p

So in support of Steve, look at the rim width...

1.85 front - install a 100/90 tire
1.85 rear - install a 110/90
2.15 rear - install either a 110/90 or 120/90 (my preference)
2.50 rear - install either a 120/90 or 130/90

Rear Tire Size?

Rear Tire Size?

I recently purchased a 1981 GS450T with a 4.50/85-17 (120/85-17 according to my Dennis Kirk Catalog). The tag on my rear fender states I should have a 110/90-17 tire instead. However, looking for a rear tire in 110/90-17 is about impossible. My questions: Can I put a tire designed for front end 110/90-17 on the rear of my bike????
Thanks,
Dibber

As long as it fits in the swingarm you can run a 120.
