A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It felt so great to get back to riding in the US of A!
I really enjoy the planning part of these trips....I booked all motels where we can park in front of our rooms...found and booked breakfast paces within an hour drive each day...booked dinner places too....when you have this many guys coming, you can't leave anything to chance.
Nine of us left Monday May 9th for California....5800kms....took the K1300R and it ran great...even turned over 100,000kms in the Nevada desert.
One flat tire on a 1200 Tenre that had to be plugged a few times until we could get it properly patched.
In 13 days I only put my rain suit on once...the last day just to get over Steven's Pass in Washington and that was only 20 min of rain.
This cities we stayed in...in order
Astoria OR, Crescent City CA, Petaluma CA, Monterey for 3 days, Thousand Oaks CA, Kernville CA, Fallon NV, John Day OR for 2 days, Ellensburg WA

The next morning at our breakfast place we noticed 5 guys our age come in for breakfast and I said "I bet these guys are riding interesting bikes"....went to the parking lot and there was a Vincent, old BMW, a Norton.....and two new GS BMW's
They had made a three hour ride to attend the Quail....I went back in the the restaurant and said...."hey, those are nice GS's out there"! Lol....they got a good laugh out of that.

Great story and pictures Trevor. It looks like a good time was had by all. :)

Another epic outing to some of my favourite places. We'll have to start calling these road trips of yours "The Franklin Expedition". LOL. And yes, lots of memories of Dreamers and the roads in and out of that area in all directions.

Ley me know if you make it to the island this year..... :)

Was waiting and looking for your trip report.

Good! thanks.

Seem like a nice trip with someone making the overnight reservations and planning for breakfast and dinner places.

I was just talking to friends the other night about making hotel/restaurant reservations. A lot of times you can get away without making reservations. But that one time when you have to ride a extra 100+ miles to the next hotel vacancy. You learn it is wise to have a plan.

One of the "new guys" said in a meeting before going...do we have to have everything planned? Lol...with 8 guys...yes....and I I give everyone the addresses so they are free to meet us there too
