DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What do you mean by "matching front/rear"?

There are lots of tire manufacturers that make tires appropriate for your bike. Sorry, but I'm not understanding the problem.

i like to have a matching pair of tires on my bikes regardless of make ie avon/bridgestone/conti at the moment the bike i have imported from usa has bridgestone spitfires on 110/80/19 front 120/90/18 rear and the rear is worn as i dont know how long the front has stood and spitfires are not available in uk i also want to renew but cant find one make the does both sizes in same type streetsmart/roadsmart/ etc

Yes, lots of choices in those sizes. I had conti blitzs on mine but way too expensive,so I opted for shinkos- tread pattern was eerily similar. It just comes down to how much you want to spend.

Avon RoadRiders are a popular choice and should be available in the sizes you require.

Avon Roadrider are the forum favorite. 100/90 front and 120/90 rear. That 110 front is questionable because the front rim is quite narrow.

One tidbit -- you'll often find the Avon 100/90-19 listed under rear tires/tyres because it is designed to be used on either the front or rear. There's an arrow on the sidewall telling you to mount it spinning one way if on the front, the other way on the rear.

hi all,i have found two sets of matching tires avon roadrider and conti-go but when i was sufing i was looking for 110/80s but now ive put 100/90 for front i can get matches only thing is the fronts are rated 57v is this ok

V-rated tires are better than H-rated (for the most part). I'd get the V's when you have a choice between the two.

Get the Avons in 3.25-19 and 4.00-18, problem solved
