A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I have a really nice 86 GS1150 red/black. I also have a 92 GSXR1100 with a spun rod bearing. I am thinking of putting the USD frontend on the GS and the swingarm with wheels. The swingarm is about 8" inches over stock on the GSXR. Trouble is the GS1150 is super clean and all original. But it has a Phillips Pro cycle 1327cc street motor in it with a pearson crank and R&D undercut trans. G3 cams and a really nice ported head. The bike rides great and is a power house. I am thinking with the extra length it would be pretty fast. The bike is kind of cool stock looking and has 160 ish h.p. so wheely's are the norm. What to Do???

Not mine but love it.

I'm gonna do my 86 Gixxer into a streetfighter with 8" headlamp in the spirit of this one.

It has a built motor, why not build the rest of it? That bike is a real beaute

it is nice and gets all kinds of looks. I have done a couple of GS1100's in the past here is my old 80 11

8" over swing arm?
Where do you live? Salt flats or similar place with no twistys?
If so go for it. If not I'd do the front end and leave the rear.

I live in Alabama. A lot of dragracing around here. I have other bikes for curves. The GS is such a good platform to work with.

That's why I don't like the roller bearing cranks. Don't butcher the GS, seems you have it about right. Find a good roller bearing GS engine & see if you can transplant it into the GSXR, then you'll have a better than new GSXR & a better than new GS 1150.

Big T,

You still looking to trade or sell?? I say leave it as it is. It appears stock, and is indeed the ultimate sleeper.

GSXR's have plain bearing cranks. Like my 750... And why is putting on better suspension pieces "butchering"? My bike is much better than it ever was stock. RADIAL tires are the best thing since sex......

+1. Anyone who thinks putting better brakes, suspension, and tires on a GS is butchering hasn't ridden one so equipped....

Well I have found one already set up. It's clean and already done. But some of the fun is doing the work yourself. Plus I would have to sell mine and I know the market sucks. I would have to have $3500 for it and it has more than that in the motor. It is just a good riding big motor streetbike with all the GS engine upgrades. It is super clean. If I sold it I would just turn around and buy the other one already done. I think my 1327 engine is nicer though.

Here's Mine:

See my signature for details on the bike. I just did a reversible fender eliminator on it meaning I kept all the stock signals and the rear fender/skirt so I can reinstall them if I ever want to. I posted a thread on it in the Appearance Mods section of the forum. I'd love to build my motor up to the level yours is at when it's time.

Your bike looks really nice. I just wanted some more power and still keep it street legal. I have had a couple of the ES models and have been looking for ES handle bars to put on mine, They are shorter.
