I was digging through some old parts and found a clutch basket that has Vance and Hines Modified stamped on it in blue ink. The backing plate is the stock steel stamped plate,it has welded rivets,Heavy duty springs, and has three half round tabs welded to the ring gear placed between the rivet spacing to stop flexing in that area. The basket is like new inside no grooves etc.Heli cut gear,Has anyone seen such a piece? I have 3 solid steel backing plate HD hubs now.1 in a motor and 2 on the shelf. I used modified in a stocker. No problems once properly shimmed. Probably would be good for a slightly modified street bike. Called Vance and Hines and they said they discontinued the process in the early 90's Hd stainess backing plates only after then. Is it worth anything in excellent condition? I believe it has approx. 200 street miles on it.I ordered the cheaper version at the time.Only modified..Moneys tight! Thanks
