DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Very slight wobble when shut off the throttle at 100mph or more?

It's much better now, even at low speeds, the 1/2in spacer allows no air needed in forks. The alignment allows equal left and right effort to turn. I feel safer now.

When your bike is upside down, riding with no hands is a real feat.

"Look Ma, no hands!" is frequently followed by pain, blood and crying - "Help Ma, help!"

I'll take a new pic, and try to get it right. I'm not the most teck savy guy?
it's right side up in my gallery, but when I load on this forum it flips.
I'll turn my iPad upside down and try again.

Also looking for ideas on wheel color ? I'm tired of the body color wheels.
I'm considering bronze, gold, gun metal grey, and gloss black?
opinions?
other options?
Is their a web site that I can change wheel color and get an idea of the look?
thanks.

I'm a right handed man, using a left hand operated camera function, it now is off the ceiling, lol.

Sig pic is flipped. :encouragement:

Wheel suggestions:
Stock wheels are a very dark gray. On my black bike, with the black and 'chrome' theme for the engine and the black forks, I went with a gloss black wheel. I have also done this for the other GSes in the stable.

That black do look good! Im thinking that gold stripe color on the first bike fairing , might go with my burgundy? I'd like a little bling, without being too loud?
takes a while to prep and tape them, I don't want to do it but once?
Thanks.

I?ve had a front wheel wobble at speed ever since I put a slipstreamer clear windshield on. If I let go at about 30 mph it will start a light wobble that gets worse. At higher speeds it still shakes and will go to a tank slapper. If I keep my hands on the bars it?s straight as can be without a hint of wobble. Everything is mechanically perfect, alignment spot on. Tire wear even. Take it off and no wobble at any speed. It is handlebar mount with lots of adjustments so I had to measure as I tighten it down. It?s as even and square as possible with measurements equal all around. Been like that for many years and I just make sure I keep my hands on the bars.

Windshield , angle, brackets, I must be drinking way tooo much???

OK, lets back up. Thread was started by 81gs7501166 for wobble issues on his fairingless bike. At some point the thread went off the rail with someone mentioning their own wobble issues being caused by his installation of a fairing. At some point it becomes time to start your own thread with your own issues so that responders can deal with one person's issues at a time/per thread. It helps to keep things relevant. Just trying to help.

I think threads can morph. The OP got his answers, so there is no reason someone who was prompted by the thread to chime in with a related question.

You’re right Pilot. My bad. Carry on. I was just trying to clear up 1166’s confusion.

I have had several bikes do that when the steering stem bearings get worn,or loosen a little. You could try and tighten the bearings a little.Don,t over tighten just add a little preload. With the front end off the ground the handlebars should not drop from side to side hitting the stops they should take a little pressure to push them to the stops. If the bars drop to the stops the bearings need more preload.

If the bike goes into a bar wobble when decelerating with no hands on the bars 90% of the time it needs steering head bearings. They are dimpled. I can be felt by raising front wheel off ground and moving bar from side to side. you can feel Dimple/notch in the race. Above mentioned tightening sequence is correct, but I would add, slightly over tighten, back it off then re-tighten until SLIGHT! resistance is felt. I tighten mine every tire change and it feels like getting new bike again. If is over tightened the bike will wander back and forth as it is sticking. A windshield will make a bad bearing feel worse and will not affect a properly set up steering head bearing.
