A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Been saying that post 2000 bikes are a great deal for a while now. I follow the bigger cc market but I'm sure there are hundreds of mid weight bikes as well. I like Suzuki but wouldn't limit my search to them. Honda and Yamaha have many great bikes as well. Doesn't mean you can't finish your 400 but spring is here now.

The sv650 is one of the two most fun bikes I've ever ridden (RZ350 being the other) Can't recommend it highly enough.

SV-S's are great bike IF you can take the rather extreme riding position. My wrists and hands would go numb on my 25 minute commute. The 03 SV was a surprising one year specific bike, you're better to get a 04^ parts wise. With 20/20 hindsight I should have got a Bandit 650 weight be dammed.

Well I decided to sell my cb250rs, being an old jap bike means that there were people willing to pay way too much for it. I rode it down to vancouver on Friday and got $1000 for it and headed off to look at that sv600 I posted a link to. By the time I made it to the dealer it had been sold. Got home all bummed out that I sold my running bike and now had nothing before the first week of good weather, so I got on Craigslist and found a gsxr750 for sale. Went to look at it yesterday morning and bought it. It's a beauty, one owner since new, he works at a Ducati dealer so it has been well maintained. A few aftermarket goodies and not a single scratch on it! I'll have to post pictures later on!

What year GSX-R? I was on the market for a SV650 for awhile... Couldn't find one for a good price. Bought a 2006 SV1000 for a full grand cheaper then any of the 650's out there.... Couldn't have been happier with my purchase.

its a 2001 GsxR 750, I am going to head back out to the owners work this Friday to pick up the passenger seat, service manual and some extra parts he may have kicking around. He might have kept the stock rear fender and all the other stock parts he removed.

Ok so it's not just me. I cannot find a SV650 for a decent price. I think that is a testimony to me how good that bike is.

If I cannot find one I just might end up with the FZ-07 instead. I would not even dare look but mine is not a bike for hours!

There great track day bikes for they come off the shelf with a near perfect power to weight ratio for track riding, properly tuned suspension and there is little in that class that can touch them... On the street they feel under powered compared to it's big brother the SV1K. But The SV1K is bigger, heavier and more powerful so it can be a bit more of a handful in executing proficient turns... Which is not so great for a track day execution but on the streets that equates to a hell of allot of fun!

What is your price range and are you willing to travel out of state? Found my last sv650 in Indiana for a great price, 8 hr round trip. $3k-3500 gets a good 2nd gen up here
