DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So one thing that has bothered me since owning my gs750 is that the carbs are not the same as what I find in the manual. I always figured it's just a minor change for that particular run. Anyhow, the physical difference is that underneath the carb no fuel mixture adjustment screw exists, the needles are all slightly different, they have two fuel taps between carbs 1 and 2 then carbs 3 and 4, and the top cap on the carb is different from all the other I've seen. When I get home tonight I will pull what numbers I can find off them, but I wondered if anyone might be able to recognize them.

Ok I looked em over tonight and couldn't find any other letter/number on them besides mic on one side and mikuni kogyo Japan on the other. I took a couple more pics maybe that will help.

Well, those are not 26SS carbs

What do the bottoms look like?

2 fuel taps? Sounds like those are the vents

Those don't look like VM Smoothbore carbs either. Maybe from a Kawasaki?

I'll have to get a pic of the bottom tonight, they are not the smooth bores. This is getting kind of interesting now... when I bought the motorcycle I noticed some holes in the rear rim and was told by a friend they use to do that and drive a screw in to prevent the tire from spinning on the rim during drags. So far everything else has been stock in appearance besides the 4 to 1 kerker, pods, and possibly now this.

Just found them, thanks for the tip on Kawasaki as these look identical to carb pictures from a z1.

Ok, this gets even more interesting as the pic just posted by adler is the exact carb minus the float bowl. I looked up the 75 z1 and found the top to be the same then found the bowl to be the exact same as the 76 kz900. Mine has the side screw on the float bowl. So it appears to be a vm 28 of some sort...

If it's a Z1 carb set, it will have an accellerator pump on #2

That is it Adler what is the model of that carb? and it has no accelerator pump on 2.

Thanks for the help fellas, it's def. the late model vm28sc. I already had tuned them by ear and synced them but it will be nice to have the factory sheets on them.
