If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

what did you wrench on today??

Repaired my cracked front fender. Installed a coil relay. And rode about 100 miles. She's running so sweet. Next is to redo all of the cosmetics.

Spent about three hours yesterday getting the 450 back on two cylinders... got down the road a little to do some stuff and then go on a nice ride when it went back to one again.

I have no idea why it did it yet as I swapped plugs, leads, and coils and it didn't seem to make a difference initially, but after a while I got spark on both again. It was always the right side missing and I was dreading the Dynatek being bad.

However, after doing all that I tackled my errands and took the long way around everywhere and it didn't miss a beat. Not sure if it's fixed or not but it looks promising...

Oh, and I got new hand grips and fitted them and a set of soft panniers too which will both get a test ride on the way to work this morning... pending dropping back to one cylinder again of course...

1972 Bultaco Sherpa with a fibreglass tank......filled with unleaded 'infected' with ethanol (thank you lentil-eating sandal wearers). Tank innards had gone like putty (but are hardened up again after a swill with cellulose thinners) and the carb was full of glue. We'll have to see how that carb cleans up but when she's done it will be BP Ultimate Super in the tank (no ethanol in this part of the world).

Spent ten hours today disassembling and cleaning a set of carbs with less than 2000 total miles since new... that sat for 30 years with fuel in them. The bodies, bowls, and jets are clean, but I still have a long way to go. Shot some carb art photos while I was at it. Nice eh?

Oh, I could think of a few choice words. But then this forum would be NSW.
I need to replace all the main jets, because mother mature worked her magic on them...just like she did to this jet washer.

A little seafoam and she'll be good as new

Guess what I found

Guess what I found

Dropped by my sons house yesterday to say hi and he says; Hey! You know what you left in my garage? The old vetter trunk that was on the bike when I got it. So I drag it out. It`s dirty as heck but inside are the triangle mounts for the hard side bags. May have a look and see if I can install them for a little extra peace of mind as far keeping the new bags from hitting the tire but I keep checking and no rub marks no signs of interferance.
Did you place some kind of support between them and the tire?

Any excuse to go to the store on your scooter is a good one. ;)
(Just don't go by way of the College, eh.)

Eric

Not today, but these will be going on this weekend :D

Damn it. So this is why I have a leak, no more T6 for me :( . I guess I'll have to go back to regular Rotella and clean up some oil every once in a while. Im not cracking open the case until I really need to. How to heck does this happen anyways?

Installed a new front master cylinder from a '08 Ninja EX650. Sadly, I spilled a full bottle of brake fluid while doing it because I didn't move fast enough to refill the MC and kicked it over.:o Got it set though and pushing up and down the driveway it stops pretty good. Need to fix the brake light switch and I can ride again.

Well, not bike work but...

Well, not bike work but...

,,,put a used wiper motor in my son's '98 Saturn wagon. What a PITA. Had to remove the top of the dash to get to two nuts that hold a bracket the wiper motor is attached to...

Don't know what GM was thinking, different fasteners throughout: phillips head screws, torx head screws, 7mm screws, plastic fasteners...

All this was necessary because the wipers wouldn't shut off (been using the fuse as a switch). I replaced the wpier switch last weekend, but that didn't do it. The wiper motor has the motor controller attached and that was evidently the problem.

All better now ;)

Serviced my Buell over the weekend - front plug had died. Did oil changes as well. What a mission to get to the plugs! Much easier on the GS!

But...no valve adjustments needed - ever and no maintenance on the belt! Love it! Also took the GS around the block for a quick run and man that motor is sooooo smooth!

Spent 10 min's this avo after work with a grinding wheel on the dremel and tidied a couple of welds up on the carry rack that we didn't get time to sort out yesterday, then tonight I spent an hour and a half with 60 grit sandpaper sanding it all back. I reckon it's about 95% ready for the etch primer.

You got the 450 'round the block, awesome! Glad to hear it :D

Chuck, Mike, William, me and dog... Disassembled newly acquired smoothbores for a date with carb dip, tore apart ZRX to replace radiator hose and swap antifreeze w/ Water Wetter, fiddled with cables and such... AND had time for a beer. Moto fellowship deluxe.
