A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What GS1100E exhaust is this?

Fits the '83 and of course '82 GS1100E. It has lots of springs and can be disassembled to the header pipes, mid-section, and canister. It weighs 13.5 lbs, pretty light. I see no ID on it tho. Any help is appreciated.

Well, we can rule out the V&H "Street Megaphone." It's closer to the V&H "Supersport" canister, but I'm fairly sure it's not that either. It's a little hard to tell off the bike.

It looks like it might be something cobbled together by a PO. Perhaps the forward part (headers) is stock 82-83 11E.

I don't know the answer, but Hindle sold similar pipes.

Too professional to be cobbled together, all those springs should tell what it is. Just gott'a somebody that had one needs to see the picture..

I found a dyno sheet that says it was fitted with a V&H pipe, so that's a clue that it could be the one.

so its a 4-2-1 and if its a yoshi pipe where are the plate and at least the rivet hole for it?
ALso yoshi pipes ive seen always had an angled tip ont he exhaust.

Is it in your posession? Its well worth 100 USD if it fits.
It is clearly not chinesium with that much patine
the welds are really nice and there is not a bit of physical damage to be seen.

I have it in my possession, yes. It is most definitely a GS1100E fitment. I could easily disassemble and ship it, which is nice. There are no dents, no physical damage. There is some surface corrosion, but very light and probably will clean up very well, if it is ceramic as the other doc I found says, it seems like it should, anyway. I will give it a scrub in the AM and post more pics.

To the best of my knowledge, given what my papers show, it is 'probably' a V&H. I don't know what you mean about the plate and rivet hole tho.

I am asking $100, if it's not a V&H, my bad. But it seems too much coincidence to have V&H mentioned in my docs. Stay tuned folks.

My period correct Yosh. had the nameplate glued on, no rivet holes, it soon came off & I got, and glued on another that is still there. Haven't had it mounted for probably 10 yrs. as I like my center stand and changing oil without having to remove it... Opinions again, It's still the best sounding pipe I've "EVER" heard.
