whoa black betty bam-ba-lam, whoa black betty bam-ba-lam, shes from birmingham .......

Good work. Now are you going to IRP????

I will be there. Leaving Thursday morning. It should be a good time. I did put a box on the bike. The little wizard. The track announced they will be going back to boxes next year in top and the bike class. I can cut some fairly good lights with it. Its a little strange waiting for the bike to leave. Snapped my neck back a couple times. We'll see how it works out.

Another one converted. I was back home this weekend and received some mail from one of the tracks I used to race at when I was a kid. They had a lot of their rules posted for the bikes. No 2-step, no line-lock on drive wheel, no delay box ..... Sounds like they want street bikes only.

Not sure if we are going to Norwalk or not. A friend of mine fell off this weekend in the traps. The one time I don't go and things go bad. We will have to see how everything works out. A gentle reminder that shit can happen. So be prepared and wear the right gear.

I need to order a clutch cover for my bike. The stock one is one of the few parts left from my youth. I am looking at the RDB unit:

http://secure.cartsvr.net/catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=317537

The only thing I don't like is the GS1150 small oil cap. I need to modify it or the spacer plate for the turbocharger's oil return line.

That's just like the one I have (6 screw). I think the newer ones have 8 cover screws. Make's clutch tuning alot easier.

I found some 40mm lectrons will see how they work out in a few weeks.

I hope your friend is ok. It always sucks to see someone go down.

I have that same cover. Works great. I get a little seeping around the o-ring. Other than that no complaints.

The box is interesting. My lights are .042 apart after taking 5 shots at the tree over 2 days. I had three close together and then one fast and one slow. I set the box to put the lights from 500-542. At least it's no worse than I do without the box. I'll be practicing this week with my practice tree.

I should have bid against you on that cover. I waited a long time to see another on eBay but I think you got the only one. I am not sure why I never bought one.

This ad was from 2004, showing the second version of the cover. Looks like $330 with everything.

Can you pull the pack with yours?

They claim I don't need the spacer in the ad, so this means I am going to have to modify this new cover to make it work, or make a new oil filler cap. Maybe time for a call to Mr Turbo.

Yours must be the newer style then. I have the longer rack from my current setup. I wondered if I was going to have to put the stock one back in. Talked to Terry last night and it sounds like they no longer make the 1150 oil filler. Too many problems with it and a pain to use. With the spacer gone, the new cover will need to be modified.

The $330 is with the cable, mount and a few more gaskets. I never have enough of those.

Well I could not get the old girl on a dyno local bike shop put it in the tohard basket so I put a set of 150 jets in and golly does it go now 8O so got a couple of newsprockets and I am off to the track sat week it will be a 12 hour round trip but it will be worth it any suggestions for a exhaust 4 into 1 or 4 into 2 ??now I have tasted power I want more!!

Glad to hear the good news. These gals like their fuel like a Pirate loves his Rum. Good luck

I always like the 4 into 1

Yep, it's got eight bolts just like you thought it would. The funny thing is that I thought it was just the casting. I take an 1150 oil cover and remove the parts and get ready to press them into the new cover. They ship it with the lower bearing already pressed in.

Now I just need to make an oil cap for it. There is just no room to weld anything on it. That or cut the oil filler the size of the 1100. :(

I finally got the GS back to the track tonight four months later with my new to me crank. 5 runs later and I was back down to 6.19. 60's where in the 1.39's so I'm happy just to be back in the seat again. My left thumb was alittle slow but it's coming back, gota love the darkside :D Boy did I miss the roar out of the Pro pipe these few months.

So the next goal is to get these 40mm Lectrons on and adjusted. I'm hoping to get in the 6.00's or better and break into 110mph range in the 1/8. From what everybody is telling me is that they run like gang busters once's on, well see by next week.

I switched from pump gas to VP102 tonight just to keep the motor happy and the retard lever worked like a charm. I guess if you don't have 400 bucks to spend on a fancy ignition system then 10 buck at Lowe's will get you there too.

Let me know how you like those lectrons. They are on most of the fast bikes I see.

IRP is fast. I went out first round. His .015 to my .033 sealed the deal. I should have taken some out of the box, but was afraid to.
1.38
3.90
6.08
8.01
9.68 @ 133 :P

Wow Ryan, you keep getting faster and faster 8O

Had the bike in the back of my truck today near the airport for alittle timing check and full throttle on the 2 step. She didn't bogg when I was at WOT, so I should be o-kay when I get back to the track.

They do have a much better throttle response compared to my CV's.

I just have mine fixed. I would like to add a Dyna or other advancer, or just get that Schnitz ignition but it would not do anything for me right now. Too many other problems to sort out.

You like that wind do you??? Sorry you went out first round. Will you be at Norwalk this weekend to watch?

Got the new cover. Pulled the pack. Like those burned spots?

The stack for the year. A lot of burned up parts for as little as it was used.

The new cover and another pack.

The clutch sits in way deep. Need to stuff a rag in there before working on anything. Also the cover makes it harder to pull the pack. Not sure if it is going to save me a whole lot of time.

Still need the oil cap.

I like the cable on it. Much shorter and less bends. Very smooth.

That is a real hard place to post a dial. Only time trial there was a real strong head wind and I got into the bumps near the center line. Ran a 9.91@130. Saturday with alot better air and stayed in the groove ran the 9.68. The guys that race there all the time have a big advantage.

I will be at Thompson Saturday. King of the track race. Have to pull the box back off.

That motor looks good.

King of the track?

9.68 is a great time!!!

I was testing a few weeks back and started drifting to the wall towards the end and got into something. Not a good feeling. My friend who went down was running about 140. The bike (less rider) went through at 137 and he ended up about 150' pass the traps. Now that was a ride.

We leave for Norwalk on Thursday for the IHRA finals. All no-box bike class. Two bikes are in. Should be a good time. I will try and get some pictures.

King of the track is an NHRA race for a wally. I won it last year. 2 classes down to 1 winner.

I got my hands on a slider today. I have a friend with his motor currently apart. I really think I can use the clutch to lock it up. Some custom machining, but I think it can be done. I'll need to switch my crank to an 1100 straight cut gear plus buy the slider. After looking the slider over I'm excited about it. I'll start working on it as soon as I'm done racing for the year.
