Hello everyone

Need to know what the fork oil capacity for a 82 GS 550E.

thanks.

For the 82 550M, forks that I have on mine, the capacity from the manual shows 223 ml, but you should use a level measurement, not a volume. The correct level is 140 mm from the top of the fork tube with the fork compressed and the spring removed (also from the manual).

As I said, my forks are from a 1982 550M, that has dual discs and looked like a mini Katana....like this:

If your 550 has the anti-dive system then the oil level is 140mm as above. I've never seen a quantity quoted.

The forks on mine do not have the anti-dive, and it is still 140mm, so either way it sounds like it should be correct.

The manual I have is a Suzuki publication that covers all 550's between 77-82, and for the 79 model, they only give a capacity, which I had to adjust to determine a good oil level. When I put the 82 forks on, the section that covers that year (in the SAME manual) gives both! I find that strange.

I'm from Portugal, this model was marketed in Europe.

The forks dont have the anti-dive, I will use the measure 140mm thank you all for your attention.
