A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

what kind of tank cap does this tank use> 1978 gs750e hinged mechanism with a spring?

Hello,
im restoring a 12 year shed stored 750e and if finally got it running with the help of a dyna ignition system, now im moving onto the tank. Its externally in ok condition just a few rust bubbles, and internally is nothing a little electrolysis and hydrochloric acid wont clean up, but its missing the cap lid, and it seems to have a strange lid mechanism. in front of the petrol hole, there is a indent with a lip and a spring, behind it is a pair of bolt holes, as if they held on some kind of two part flip top cap piece, where the cap my flip open towards the front of the tank and rest on the spring. i cant find any such cap on the internet or ebay, only one piece push down caps.

does anyone recognise what kind of cap this is meant to have and where i can get one from? photo is attached.
thanks!
