Complete lack of maintenance for YEARS has left it DOA:-s It's a piece of 22mmOD,16mmID tube.Found some out of England on eBay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/STEEL-PRECIS...145655?hash=item5b19c1a777:g:62sAAOxyRNJSciAk .The $5.41CAD price is good but the $22.52CAD shipping not so much:pLooked a McMaster&Carr, the only metric tubing is SS and a 1" piece that size is $48USD +shipping:(. This kit http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271327524432?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT out of Blighty is starting to look like the better way to go.

On every fiche I checked it was NLA:rolleyes:Didn't do the whole list but enough to think it's just NLA:(

I don't get the issue with using that? Is that just a spacer between the bearing sleeves?

You could fill the grooves with weld and then turn back down to size.
If you were anywhere near me I'd do it for ya.

Cut the sleeve in half, turn the pieces around and tack them back together.

Yeah - ghetto, but it should work.

Yeah one side had no needles left at all, just rust. The other was mostly rust with a few needles intact:-&Thanks for reminding me hillsy, while your idea of just cutting and welding wont work because the sleeve's pitted.I do have a piece the same size,I believe it was the swing arm pivot from the KDX. Why not just cut this, use it as a spacer and use the KDX piece cut in 2 for the bearing area. Was thinking I'd have them welded but thinking about it why bother?

When I relube the s/a bearings in my motocross bikes I will mix about 80% Mobil 1 syn grease and 20% antisieze. Been doing this for the past 20 years of racing. The 80/20 mix makes for a super slick and moisture impervious lube that lasts a LONG time. I did this on both my GPz , and my GSXR. I also do this to the steering stem bearings. High pressure washers that many use for MX bikes are brutal on these bearings. New OEM Yamaha grease is the worst as far as quality. The OEM stuff looks and feels like 100 year old Vaseline crack jelly !

No need to weld them together, the bearings and spacer are separate in the GSX750F, I just changed out the swingarm on mine. In fact I was thinking the spacer could even be made of PVC, no stress on it at all.

Antiseize has metal bits in it. Adding that stuff to your grease is like adding grit. Where did you come up with this idea? Maybe I'm missing something but I've never heard of anyone, certainly no OEM, recommend mixing grease and antiseize.

Some common water proof grease is all you need. Marine grease as sold at auto part stores works well.

Oh and regarding that sleeve and the bearings, that kit from the UK would make life easier. It's a little expensive is all. You should be able to find a salvage sleeve out of some bike. There are scads of old swingarms laying around in salvage yards. The bearings are about $10 each from Kawasaki. Partzilla is my favorite parts source for Kawasaki parts since they have competitive pricing and a good fishe.

Yeah I was planning to go to the local bearing place to see if they had some.

Most of the metric bike bearings will be NTN or Koyo. You should be able to find a Timken or SKF equivilant. I've been able to identify metric needle bearing by the universal p/n which should be on the edge of the bearing, bring that number to Napa Auto and they can usually cross it over. Be warned those needle bearings can get REAL expensive but sometimes you have no choice. Google "SKF cross reference chart". I had to try and find obsolete 45mm spherical axle bearings for my older CRG shifter kart, after a lot of reverse engineering and p/n cross referencing I was able to find them from SKF. Good luck !
