I need some help IDing the wheels & frontend on my 83 GS1100SD Katana and cant seem to get any. Please check out the pics under Popular Tech Info under GSRX wheel selections. They are 17 X 3 on front & 17 x 4.5 on back. There are no spacers for the chain & everything lines up. id like to know what the frontend & rear brake caliper is too if anyone can help me. I bought the bike like this & need some help. Thanks

if you can find a part number maybe you could do a reverse parts search

Put some pics up on the thread.... You'll get more answers that way

done already
I think he was hoping to have them in this thread.

it looks like a bandit, or gsxr wheel to me,could be a gs500e front wheel, same as mine, that is a 17x3

Thats a genuine Kevin Schwantz superbike front end as far as i can tell. The yoshimura sticker and magnesium colour paint gives it away. Seriously maybe a baby bandit or early 600/750 GSXR front?

I think he was hoping to have them in this thread.

Huh :-s, U think he has a broke finger and is unable to navigate overthere?

I think he did not know about the other thread.

Salty wanna splain your self?

I am basically computer illiterate and my son helped putting the pics on the other thread so I was hoping not to have to move them again. As for the stickers they came with the bike and will be removed. Cut me some slack here guys, Im an old senile at 66 :D Thanks for moving the pictures !

I am lazy... especially when using forum on my phone. Jumping threads is too much work especially when there is no link supplied :D

I would guess at GSXR 750 from around 90's vintage.

My other guess was SV650 from the size but they have the straight spokes

Think Katana has the straight spokes as well doesn't it?

I definitely vote GSXR in the period they went from 18" to 17" but before the 5.5" rear wheel came out. Quite a rare wheelset.

Dan :)

I used to have that front on mine, '89-'97 gsx600f or same years gsx750f. The 750's had a rubber cushion mounted handlebar where the 600's were solid mounted. They only had a 17x3.5 wide rear wheel, if your wheel is 17x4.5, it's probably from an '89 gsxr 750 or 1100.

This is the 600 front that was on mine. It has an rf900 fork with gsxr 3.5x17 wheel on it now.

The wheel & the top tree look identical to mine but my wheel is 3 inch X 17. My front disc has the same 4/3 hole spacing but in the other direction if that makes any sense. My upper fork tubes measures 41 mm & my fender looks the same too. I dont know if the fork tubes are original or not

Looks like the same front-end to me. Right down to the calipers et al.
Those brakes are the same as series one GSXR.

If the front wheel is not off the same bike then could be GS 500 made to fit....

Rear has to be Gsxr, can't think of another bike that had that width.

I believe the front wheel is an 89-97 Katana 600/750 17 x 3 curved spoke with the RF 900 front end and the rear is an 89 GSXR 750/1100 curved spoke 17 x 4.5. Thanks to everyone for your help. If you disagree please let me know

Your entire front assembly is from a gsx600f (Katana here in the u.s.) This what an rf900 fork looks like.
