    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted.   • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What's it like....

155 or so on a much modified '03 FZ1, possibly faster on the GPz 810 Turbo. 140 on the VFR1000, 130 or so on the VMax.
 
1978 I was riding a honda 750 bored to 900, after a couple of years I bought a full race head & a 3C cam, 13K revs. It had a bikini fairing & straight bars,I found a straight & accelerated until it woudn't go any faster, probably 180mph. I had my chin piece on the tank.
 
I rode my dad's new Arctic Cat M1000 Turbo in 2020 and got it up to 105mph across a lake. It had a bit more, but that was enough for me.

It was an indicated speed so who knows the actual speed.

The H2 my cousin had was one scary bike. Ported and troughed with Bassani's. It was an on off machine. Wicked fast and light as hell in the front end. For back in day anyway..

The other bike I didn't care for way back when was a YZ490. That one stood on end. Dont know how I recovered during that ride.
 
I agree, mine may have went that fast, just the speedometer didn't indicate it, probably as apt to be off one way as much as the other...Don't remember huge talk about the stability of the H1, The H2 seemed to be in the one in spotlight, had and deserved the nickname "Widow Maker".
 
I enjoyed the original story at the beginning of this thread.

It's really mentally rewarding when you get into a rhythm on the track & keep hitting apex's consistently lap after lap.

We had YZ360s around when I was a kid (I had a YZ125 at the time), but my dad's best friend had a 490. Terrifying bike.
 
That same guy thought the GS1100's , "80" thru "82" would only go 80 mph. cause that's as far as the speedometer would go... Good thought I guess.
 
I've never understood yall's way of figuring, when ya'll are do'in 80 we're only at 50 and when ya'll get to 160 we're only at 100... I'd never accuse anybody of cheating, but how could that be fair??????

Multiply 80 and 50 times 2 and you get your 160 and 50 :)
 
When you're do'in 160 and we're do'in 100 we're 60 behind... Divide 160 and 100 by 2, down to 80 and 50, then we're only 30 behind. Seems we may be catching up.

Wow, 174 MPH near Winnipeg on a GS1150? That’s crazy! Thanks for sharing. It's cool to hear real stories like this. It really helps bring the topic to life, especially when most of us can only imagine what riding that fast feels like.

I truly believe it's a tall tale. My 1150 was seriously built. 1229 piston kit, head porting, oversized valves, 38 mil flatslide carbs,cams Dyna coils and ignition balanced crank bla bla bla. It would go nowhere near 175.
