Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

The specs if true make this a practical urban ride right now, I can guarantee they'll sell in asian and european markets based on those specs alone, I saw many ev scooters in London this appears to be better. Styling has some way to go but it's subjective, for a cheap utilitarian ride are the looks the most important buying factor? I don't think it matters to delivery or taxi service where the bottom line is profit and not style and image.

As a moto friend told me "You can't see it's ugly when you're on it".

Get quick charge SS batteries in this, and it'll rock.

"You can't see it's ugly when you're on it".

After every ride I would get off and look at her. Form follows function, or somethin'. I never was a "cheap utilitarian" rider. CB350, Z1, 11EZ, Harley Sportster. For me, 50% performance, 50% looks, and I forget what the other 50 is. And...

If I can't see the engine, of what use is a motorcycle to me? :hopelessness:

It's been well established the end of ICEs will come in 2035

Established by who?
By us the people?
By an elite, more likely.
Do you feel represented by elites?

By us the people through our elected representatives..that's how democracy works. It's already been decided every manufacture will soon have full EV and EV/Hybrid lines.

New ICE production will end in 2035. Likely sooner as the ever improving performance of EVs will surpass ICEs in range, power and convenience and no one with any financial sense will purchase an ICE. ICEs will become collector novelties.

I think back through your life and how many times you thought that about anything, it takes time to come around to new ideas but we all do it eventually. I never thought I'd own a mini van or a sedan ever! But now I have both and it's no longer an issue that they're boring and bland.

Just thinking we evolved from muels to tractors, from oil lamps to elect. lights, you from a truck to a sedan to a mini van. All because something came along and evolved into something we rather have & wanted to buy....None of those were mandated thru our govt....I'm thinking most everybody will be up for an EV, when they evolve to something we want to buy, but also thinking the idea of being "forced" to buy one may push some to not want to accept an EV as quick as without the mandate.

You are kidding, correct? Government mandates on autos started with the first cars.
Lights, glass, airbags, crash protection, back up cameras, fuel types, fuel economy, etc., etc., etc.

You're sure right about that. The 'free hand of the market' will be the ultimate determinater.. decider...factor...whatever. Make up your own word.

But just like there were those who grew up 125 years ago and never preferred cars over horses, no matter how much 'better' they were, there are those of us who will never prefer electric to ICE. And there will hopefully always be a few youngsters who become historians/restorers ICE riders.

Right! I thought I'd NEVER come round to Taylor Swift, but today...my favorite song of hers is...
A Hard Day's Night!
No one lives forever, and some people will never do some things. I've never owned a pickup, a van (mini or otherwise), a Jeep, an off road bike, a surfboard and many other things. And I never will.

Taylor Swift? I suppose it's possible, but don't hold your breath. The newest piece of music in my home is 31 years old. (Mary Jane's Last Dance)

Correction: I have ONE newer song. "Tear Off Your Own Head (It's A Doll Revolution)" released 2002.

Bob, I think I got your point, the going from mules to tractors, oil lamps to elect. lights, or possibly walking to flying in planes is exactly the same....as putting seat belts in cars or ethanol in gas...OK, I got it.

They are not mandating a different car, just a different power unit. The car doesn't have to change.

I was never a Taylor swift fan as I'm one of the the grumpy old "get off my lawn" crowd. But occasionally I hear a nice tune on the car radio and it's.... Taylor Swift. I still wouldn't buy her tunes or see a concert but she's okay and doesn't annoy me anymore. It took a devastating personal tragedy in my life to change me but I'm learning to go with the flow fighting windmills is stressful and futile. If ICE disappears it's all good I can tell stories to my grandkids about them and show them the 2 wheeled ICE monsters I keep in the garage parked next to my EV SUV.

Someone here said something about batteries able to charge as quickly as pumping a tank of gas. That that would soon be widely available. I can't find that post now, but as my favorite (ICE) bus driver R. Kramden would say...

Har har hardy har har!

Does posting the name of President Donald Trump gets your post deleted?
Democracy I suppose
Or Democrats...?

Toyota, Samsung and CATL are all saying 10 minute charge for Solid State batteries which is excellent for long road-trips, meaningless when charging overnight at home. The claimed range of Toyota's SS-batt 745 miles is more than 99% of us would consider driving in a day.

The day I can charge at home and never stop a gas bar again for anything other than a coffee, snack and pee break can't come soon enough.

Maybe I'll drop in at a Toyota dealer and see if they're taking advanced deposits, 2027 EVs

These batteries are getting closer & closer all the time. Exact same for the EV's, not there yet but sure a lot closer than they were 10 yrs. ago.

Bla, bla, bla, let?s hear it from you, when the next car park will be set ablaze by one of your homic cars

Lorenzo, your font color may look OK on a screen in dark mode. But on a white background, it's barely visible. Just thought you'd want to know. This is what we see on a white background.

Looks like a swing and a miss from Can-Am on their new commuter model, according to Ryan. But a bit of promise on their ADV model. Just that pesky range thing.
