If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm looking for two pilot fuel screws for the mikuni VM26. The p.o. screwed them too far and broke off the tips. I've looked around online (z1, old bike barn, ebay) and haven't found them. Strangely, they don't come in the rebuild kits I've found.

I'm playing with the idea of brazing some material on the ends and then turning it down. The problem with that idea - is that it's dumb:-k.

Anyone have a secret pilot screw honey hole?

Thanks in advance you your replies.

The K&L rebuild kits for the GS750 that Z1 sells has the screws. Not cheap but the most reasonable solution I've found.

I have the vm26's, and I hope Robert's o-rings fit because I'm expecting them in the mail ;-). Thanks for the effort gentlemen, I'm working on an unconventional solution, if it works I'll share it. If not, I may spend $45 for two screws.

Are they even on any parts list?? Here's a schematic from bikebandit, where are they? Were they omitted because we're not supposed to know about them?

They are not available from Suzuki.

Look at the schematic that you posted. It's not a good representation of them, but what is item #21? Their description is "JET, PILOT" and will cost you a whopping $8.41. Keep in mind that Bike Bandit is not always the cheapest. The same part is available from Carolina Cycle for $7.42.

The pilot jet is different from the pilot fuel screw. The fuel screw is not available, nor is the pilot air screw but those rarely become damaged.

You mean that part #18, SCREW, PILOT AIR is not the pilot air screw?

It's just that both of those items seem to be in the right places in the picture.
Yeah, the fuel-related one is only called a JET, but the air-related one is called a SCREW. :-k

Okay Steve, you got me on the pilot air screw, seems they are available. The fuel screw is not though. Not sure why since they are commonly broken.

OK, just checking. I don't do much with VM carbs and was lucky enough to have spares when I did do a set of VMs. :o
