    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Where do I get the proper braided lines?

That is kinda why I want to do it. Just concerned on getting the proper length and the banjo fittings at the right angles etc. Not exactly your comon everyday 1100

I got mine from Dennis Kirk, perfect, just a bitch to bleed though, I can stop real quick though.

If Paragon doesn't already have the specs for yours and you can't send them the old ones for them to use as a pattern, they will work with you to create a set from scratch. Just measure carefully and pay attention to the orientation of the bends on the fittings. I'm sure they'll take care of you. They are great to deal with.

That's for sure!! They are really nice people (husband and wife team, I think). If you send your specs, they will not only make them quickly, they will also give you a great discount for supplying the information so they can add it to their line. As PTM says, 'measure carefully'. When I did it, I measured everything, then had my wife measure them and we compared both...then checked them together. They turned out perfect!
 
Haven't used these guys for the GS yet,but I have had an excellent experience with www.cyclebrakes.com. Have their stuff on my 90 GSX1100F and my 02 ZX12R and I'm very pleased. Great customer service and a knowledgeable staff.

This is Spiegler's custom brake line configuration tool -- you can choose all the options for the brake lines you need in an easy-to-understand interface. When you're done, you enter your contact info, and a Spiegler engineer checks your setup for basic sanity and shoots you a price the next day. When you call to purchase, they make the lines the next day and send 'em out.

Spiegler lines are also absolutely top quality, and their prices seem good.


It's hard to come up with a standard configuration for many GS models because some of them need different handlebars to be rideable. For example, the stock handlebars on "L" models cause severe pain pretty quickly. The "G" models also come with absolutely ridiculous ape hangers that most riders have to change immediately. When I had lines made for my bike, they had to be about 3 inches shorter.

Measure several times before ordering! Use a length of somewhat stiff wire to mock up the new lines.
