I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A GS-er is looking to buy some intake boots for a 77 550. He's not getting any responses from the usual suspects, but locally they want about $180 for the boots. I'm sure we can do better than that. Who / which retailer do you prefer?

Flatout apparently doesn't want to answer my email.

I've always had the item sent to me and reboxed it and sent it US postal service. Their rate seems to be about the cheapest.

Trouble is you cant buy intake boots new on EBAY. And 2nd hand you do not know what you are getting. Nice soft ones are what most people want. Boots I mean!!!!!!!!!!!

Alphasports in the US is the go.Google and you can bring up exploded diagrams.Parts take a bit over a week and freight on a large post pack costs about $50 AUS.They were the best I've found so far.Cheers,Simon.:-D

Thanks Simon. How do you order them. Online of phone the order through.
Many thanks.

Online is the go.Mumma Bear does all that techo stuff.Did you go onto their parts diagrams? They give you part numbers, availability and price.I downloaded a complete set for my 'S and they came in real handy for putting it all back together.Old mate Psyguy seems to think Z1(?) is pretty good as well.A bit of window(s) shopping might be the go.Cheers,Simon.\\:D/

Just jumped on and from a quick check of a few bits I've bought, Z1 seems to be cheaper.Wish I'd sussed this out before I did my bike up cause I could've saved a heap of cash.Suziparts (Adelaide) has most bits and they come in the Suzuki packets but they're verrrrry pricey.Live and learn I guess.Next one will seem like a abargain.Cheers,Simon.:-D

Hey Simon & Psyguy I checked out Z1 and they dont list any intake boots except for Kwakas. And I'm not sure if they can get all the Suzuki bits OEM as Alpha Sports and Flatout can. These people have acccess to all Suzuki bits that are still available. Does anyone know if Z1 are able to get the Suzuki OEM parts -- GS550B Intake Boots especially. I tried to contact Flatout as there boots were only $22 each, but no luck. Alpha Sports at $31 and my Suzuki dealer in Adelaide that can get me absolutely anything I want, but at a price is $45 each is more than I want to pay.

Cheers Don

positive!
nice people to deal with
send them an email listing what you need (provide oem part number to speed up the process)
it'll take a week for them to get the parts they don't stock themselves + the usual shipping time (this is the same for alphasports or bikebandit who sometimes list parts as available but STILL have to get them from the suzuki warehouse)
in your email to z1 also ask for the shipping quote for your particular order - might be even less than what you get as a web-quote! (it was in my case more than once :-D )

if you can be very organised and know for sure what you need than a one-off shipping price doesn't matter that much, but if you end up ordering more than once (and we all do :?) then stick with z1

i did a lot of reserch on this, and as you experienced yourself, some are not that good at getting back to you or confirming availability or prices they have listed on the web, and z1 was always onto it straight away

now, do i not sound like i was paid to promote z1

btw, my last order was like 6mths ago, so things might have changed since then, dunno really

Thanks PSYGUY, I will send off an email right away and get some prices back from them.

Cheers

Psyguy old mate, now that you're getting a considerable discount from Z1,do I order through you or just mention your name???????? Hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaah!(I'll give them a go next shopping trip.).Cheers,Simon.:-D

you can mention my name at ALPHASPORTS, bloody $&%#"!!! :x

i odered 4 oversized pistons and 4 sets of rings from them and they sent me all 4 ring sets but ONLY 2 pistons! (the last two in stock) without asking me if i wanted to buy 2 only - which i wouldnt have as i had no use for them unless i had all 4

my idea was to rebore the cylinders but i wasnt able to find the other 2 pistons in months so i had to give that idea up and went with the standard size honing and new rings

after many emails to them, in the end they offered a refund on the purchase but NOT on the postage (which was hefty one way let alone return...)
they just wouldnt accept responsibility for sending an incomplete order without checking with the customer first

Success At Last And Thanks To Robert Barr

Success At Last And Thanks To Robert Barr

Special thanks to Robert Barr and PSYGUY for their assistance and help. I sent the email to Z1 and got a really helpful guy by the name of Rob that so far has emailed me 4 times. He got right onto it for me. I also contacted Bikebandit. Z1s price for the 4 intake boots was cheaper than Bikebandit. The freight from Z1 to Sydney was $11.11 compared to Bikebandit who were going to charge me $78 for the same deal. Guess who I went with. Rob also told me he would let me know as soon as the parts arrived from Suzuki and he would give me a total cost then so I can PAYPAL him. MORE THAN HAPPY WITH Z1. Turned out to be $50 cheaper than the next best DEAL.

Cheers
Don

You've gotta love this forum. The 'global village' works very well here.

If only the rest of the world could co-operate this well. :?
