DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just tore my seals forks apart on my 77 GS750 and found that the reason they were leaking was because one of the POs destroyed them. I just found a set of forks from an 82 GS750 on line and Im wondering if these will fit my 77.

They'll fit but your steering geometry will change and you'll have to get new calipers and discs so best avoided I would say.

What's wrong with your current forks? Fitting new seals is an easy and cheap job.

Are the 82 forks not the same diameter as the 77s? Where the seal fits in in the lower fork tube is all scratched up and gouged from when one of the previous owners replaced the seals. I had a hell of a time getting the seals out recently because whoever did the seals last put gobs of RTV in with the seals. I also want to put dual front brakes on the bike and this set of forks I found on ebay has the dual brake set up.

82 GS750 Upper fork tube diameter??

82 GS750 Upper fork tube diameter??

Does anyone know for sure what the upper fork tube diameter is on a 1982 GS750E?

Social, there is a gentleman on GSR that has a beautiful pair of early 750 forks that are for sale at a give away price in the for sale section.
I asked him just to sell me the TT and keep the forks as shipping would be too much for me as I already have a spare set of those for my use here.
Look through the last week or so in the sale/parts section and you will find them and he will have a good reason to sell me just the trees. ;)

I need the brakes too. There are brakes and forks off an 82 on ebay for $105 shipped...
