A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Will this seat fit on my GS1000S?

Yes, I saw that, and I would love to get the original, flat seat, but they don't appear as often as the stepped seats. this "G" seat looks flatter than the "E" stepped seat.

Thanks.

The 1000S seat cover looks very, very close to my '80 G seat.
the only thing I question, is the shape and dimensions of the seat pan. maybe you can get someone to snap a picture of that "S" seat and I can measure mine...

I guess I should explain. I cannot view many of the pictures. Photobucket and some other sites are blocked at my current location. I will have to look again tonight.

It won't work. The 78/79 pan is different to the 850/1000G pan.

It's not even close enough that you could "adjust" it

Is there any g*damned way to put one of those on my 79 750L

That is the seat I have on my 78' GS1000E.

It looks the same... but it aint! The front corners on the 78/79 are much sharper & the pan is much flatter..... Buy it if you want but it won't fit :D

I've been here from experience... luckily I managed to turn round the mistake I bought on Ebay & break even...

I was looking at the pattern on the upholstery, not being able to see more detail. Now that you mention it, it does look like it is curved up from front to back. Mine is as flat as the skirting on the bottom of the pan that is missing on that seat. It must just share the same upholstery.

What one do you have on your S now... Maybe you can convince me to trade the one off my 78 which is actually off a 791000E.

I've been looking for a low profile one which it seems you may have looking at that tiny pic in your profile....

Dan :)
