I have a damaged wiring harness.OK, so someone hack the harness on the bike before I bought it.Instead of tossing it, I wanted to save it,shorten it,and move the electrical connections out of the headlight back under the tank.

Here is the hacked harness. They used wired nuts of all things to splice the harness and shipping tape to wrap the splices. The bike only has 1835 miles on it when it was wrecked.I don't know why they would have done this.

Aside from the hacked section and being dirty, the harness is in good condition.

When I shorten the harness and clean it up,I will need these female terminals.Where can I get the proper ones that match my connectors?

It was suggested that I cut the wiring and splice it back together.I'm not half @$$ing this because of the project it's going on.I want it to appear completely stock.Besides,I don't wanna be 1000 miles from home and start having wiring problems.

Here ya go.....

I was just looking through some old stuff I had.I came across a Vintage bag, low and behold, there was a forgotten project with the female terminals I need and the part numbers. Now I need to order about 20 more to complete my project.

I may have and overlooked it.A.D.D. is a ***** at times.

I think BassCliff is on holidays or something so I don't think you got the welcome... but yeah I believe Vintage Connections is the one you want for the multi-pin connectors.

I was hoping to score some locally here before this Saturday so I could use them for the Acewell install but it doesn't look like anyone here carries them... there's a shock.

I have a local specialty electronics company. When I showed them what I wanted,I got a funny look.So yeah,no surprise here either.I don't need the connector itself.I need the little female terminals that crimp to the wire and snap into the connector.I will solder mine just to make sure the connection holds tight.

Aaah I get ya, there's a place on eBay that I'm pretty sure has all that. Towzatronics I think is the seller's store name.

I have rebuilt some wiring harness for people and used GM weather pack connectors. They're kind of bulky on a bike but I have never had one of the harnesses fail at the connector.I would use those, but I am trying to keep most of this build looking as close to factory Zuk as possible.

I've just discovered these. It says they're available at Napa but might only be in the U.S. & I'm in Canada.

Seems like they'd be perfect for bikes.

Posi-Locks do work very well, and they are a strong, reliable repair, but they are EXTREMELY bulky and awkward.

I carry some in my tool roll for roadside repairs -- the only tool you need is a knife or maybe strong teeth to strip wires. They're usually in the way if you need a permanent install.

I will say that the Posi-Tap is an easy, relatively non-destructive way to tap into a wire -- I've used them to install sense wires on Honda regulator/rectifiers.

These are what you want:

They look just like the stock ones on my bike, pity there's no way I could get them by this Saturday for my Acewell install.

Those are nice but the terminals are aluminum. The ones on my GS is copper or.The ones from Vintage are copper.Dissimilar metals in contact with each other have a tendency to corrode.Dielectric grease is my friend, and my GS's friend.

I'm in the process of restoring my cycle and in the process I needed to redo a few connections so I ordered some parts from z1. After crimping & soldering them, I decided I liked the solid connection and interlocking sleeves so much I ordered a bunch more and redid all of the connections on my GS. The parts I ordered are B1, B2, B3, B4 which are the male, female, and interlocking sleeves to match. They can be found on the second page of this link: http://www.z1enterprises.com/catalog.aspx?pid=SPEL1

I know it's not exactly what you asked for but after using them, it's what I prefer and would recommend. If you want to go with something to match your existing connectors, I'm pretty sure one of the connectors in that link would work too.

PS: While your at it, it's a good idea to run a wire for your coil relay mod while you have the ability to put the wire in the existing loom to make it nice and clean.

Yup, makes sense, didn't even think of that! I haven't seen any like that with anything other than aluminium terminals now that you mention on it... interesting.
