All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I stay up all night last night labeling my wiring harness in prep for my bike rewire. Im moving all of the electronics from the side panel up under the seat as well as wiring in new idiot lights, and switches. I have everything labeled now but I cant remember exactly how the harness was ran on the bike before I took it off. I had pictures but I cant find the memory card which they were on. If you have ANY pictures of the harness on your bike without a gas tank or seat, PLEASE post them up; The more the better. I have today off so I would like to get a jump on this. Thanks!

edit: If you need to email them my email is RJIwankow@gmail.com. Ill host whatever you email and post them in here for others as well

The factory service manual has diagrams showing the routing. You can download the manual for free from Basscliff's web site.

Ive heard that but I havent been able to find it for the 78 GS1000. Also, the other reason I was looking for pictures was to see the colors and real life routing. Im going to go to Basscliffs web site right now to try and find the diagram but pictures are worth a 1000 words

Hi,

You'll find a few relevant pictures interspersed in the following albums of my Photobucket:

http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t40/basscliff/maintenance/frame_straighten/

http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t40/basscliff/maintenance/intake_repair/

http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t40/basscliff/maintenance/reassembly_12-09/

There are several GS1000 manuals on my website. They may not be particular to your specific year, but the routing illustrations should be close enough.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi,

Why not just save the whole manual to your hard drive? Then you can print out just the pages you need in the garage.

Thank you for your indulgence,
