A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Huge day for me today!

Yahweh tribute bike is eventually running on her own steam!

Electrical issue turned out not to be much of an issue. Bought third set of carbs, cleaned and fitted them.
no more fuel leaks!

Got air leak somewhere on carbs causing hanging idle, needs carb adjustments, clutch adjustments and front brake is pulsating, but she runs!!!

Success!!!

Here are the vids:

After 2 years, that's gotta feel great, Wally. Way to stay with it and get it running. Does sound like it needs a bit more fiddling, but overall, nicely done. My favorite part of your bike is the tail light and how you fitted the seat back around it. ;)

Thanx! The fact that we moved house and work scenario changed helped a bit!

i definitely didn't want the taillight to look like a simple bolt on.
Can't wait to get the seat on!

Hopefully Monday! ;)

Sounds pretty good actually. Try not to look so happy! ;) LOL!

She was standing outside for about 2 years when I bought her and another 3 before it is now finally running. So I'll run her a bit, change up oil and check compression. Not too stressed about it for now.

My 1000G did the same for a short time till everything got reseated. Might also be the carbs dumping fuel and washing away a lot of accumulated oils in the exhaust. Hopefully it will go away like mine did. Nice to see it back on the road.

Buffed the tank today, trimmed fuel and vacuum hoses to appropriate lengths and finally fitted the seat!

Also adjusted clutch and rear brake. Going to give it shakedown run tomorrow. Just for the fun of it!

Apparently I haven't logged in here for quite some time!!!

That is absolutely fantastic Wally!!! So glad to jump in here for the first time in ages and see such a great end result!!!

Stunning! Love the pipes, tank and seat. Makes me wish I had my 450 back.

There's always something right Wally? Haha

I have heard mixed reports on those Sigma kits... one thing I will say is they seem to stand behind their product and will help you get it sorted. At least that's what I've taken from when I looked into them.

If my carbs were any good and I was to do the whole exercise over, I'd be tempted to give it a shot... you can get jets for our carbs but you can't get an alternative needle, so the Sigma kit may sort that issue.

Just re-read the ad... they don't mention what year 450 that is for, so given the 80 - 82 carbs are different to every other 450 and other model out there, make sure the kit suits! If it's for an 83 onwards, they're different carbs...

Thanks Charlie!

Pete, I mailed them and they said they can do a kit for our models.
Will try and purchase one at end of the month.

Good stuff Wally, from what I've seen I reckon it's probably worth a shot!

So while I wait for our exchange rate to better (worst it has been in 15 years), I regular start the bike up to keep it running and carbs working properly.

The last few weeks it refuses to start. Only fires on one cylinder.

So I checked the ignitor, tightened it up and in the process pinched the VR's cable.

Now there is nothing. No click, nothing, dead.

Could this be why?

How's your ground for the ignitor Wally? If that's the ground for the R/R then it shouldn't have an impact on cranking or anything.

Have you checked the main fuse?

Hey Pete! Everything looks good. Even put new fuse in for in case. Removed ignitor, cleaned grounds to make sure, but dead as a door nail! All other electricals work.

Confused and irritated!
