    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

year model identification?

Ok, ive read the model identification at the GS resources http://www.thegsresources.com/gs_modelchart.htm

But im now a little confused as to the identification of my bike.

The Aussie compliance plate says 1/77 so I guess it is possible that it was actually made in 1976.

Now on that page, it shows that there is the following possibility's for my model seem to be:

GS750A
GS750B
GS750DB
GS750EB

It also doesnt seem to list the different option codes for this such as mag wheels, dual front discs.


So, now to my question:
Is it possible to identify the actual model by the engine and frame numbers?

Can anyone help out please?
 
Sorry, but over here, the only Suzuki 750's I remember in 1977 was the GS 750 B, standard model spoked whls. single disc. & the 3 cyl. 2 stroke Water Buffalo. "E" models came in 1978 & I don't know what a "D" model is.
 
well it would apear that besides already having 850 mod done the PO updated the wheels and brakes as well?

Which translates to:

Suzuki-Frame Numbers (new Version 1.4)
Here the frame numbers and engine numbers are listed by many Suzuki models. As far as I know, this information is unique on the Internet!

Perhaps it will help you. Words for 'model', 'frame', 'cylinders', etc, are about all you'll need to translate to make the chart understandable.

so, indulge us, what did you find about your model?

gs models sold in the usa were often different to those sold on other markets
most noticeably, the mag wheels and dual front discs were in general introduced to other markets sooner than to the usa

your is likely a 1976 production (apparently only a very few were available for purchase in 76)
though i would bet no 76 model ever had mag wheels so if you have them that would have been an upgrade

well, that german site suggest 750 was first intoduced in 76 as B year of production, no mention of A

at least its clear D stands for german market models only, dual front disc on spoked wheels

Well I found that the bike is definitely the 1977 manufactured and listed as just GS750 model, and B year not listed at all as a GS750B, just plain old GS750

Tis good to know, and that page also shows the engine rating as 748cc and 46 kW (62Hp) but Im with the wiseco 850 kit it should now be 843cc and Im figuring slightly better than the list says for the GS850 from 1979.... @ 59Kw (79hp)


I think my dual disc front came off something like a GT750 because when i went to get parts for the master cyl a while back they got the wrong parts (ordered for dual disc GS750)
