Just at a glance, some things I love and some I'll do different, but a really nice, clean build and attention to detail! Great work! I'm saving this thread.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
Where'd you stash the battery?
I can't see it in your pics.
Well, it's very neatly done, and a useful redo of an L model.
I look for performance improvements, not so much pretty polishy stuff.
I see some performance things, I like the top end rebuild, and the flatside carbs!
The L forks?meh.
I like the gauge change.
Is that a Bridgestone Spitfire front tire? Really scary bad grip from those, had them on 2 bikes I bought.
That green looks like a nice color for a bathroom, kinda fem.
Sorry, I only like some of it.
The VM carbs were the first called flat side carbs, they are not CV type carbs. The BST carbs have a flat sided piston and are CV type. Those look like stock VM26 carbs. are they known as flat side carbs? I though the BST slingshot CV carbs were also called flat side carbs (flat slide?)

You need to start a new thread about your jetting issues in the carb tuning section. I am not a carb tuner. A lot of tweaking issues come up with pod mods, because you're discarding tuning for public road conditions and tuning for WOT race performance. You can't have both. Thanks Bill, so they are the stock vm26 carbs with pod intakes, and a 4:1 header to open pipe? Might the builder share jetting? I rejected my 79 gs1000e with 20 pilots and 130 mikuni mains (stock jet needle) to run with knock off k&n oval pods and 4:1 pipe going to an open "muffler" I made with 3" pipe and an internal antireversion cone.. She runs pretty good but touchy around 4k and at a constant throttle above that (like she just wants me to open it up and she does pull right off if I do)... And not to steal the OP thread, but I do have a set of bst32 or bst33 from a katana600 I was thinking of trying on the '79 gs1000, anyone have luck with that?
