DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know if the Z1 SS allen bolt set includes the oil cover and oil pan bolts for an 82 850?

I dunno if it was just me - after using the screws (z1 stainless screw kit for an '81 550l) for the valve cover and sprocket cover, I found that it was missing 4 of the correct sized/length screws for the clutch cover and 1 from the stator cover.

I do have a half dozen of smaller/shorter that I haven't found a use for from the kit...

I ended up getting the missing 4 stainless clutch cover screws from the local Ace hardware store for ($2 ea --- OUCH, but they had um...). But not one long enough for the stator cover; an m6x45 if I recall. I put a plain black m6x45 hex head in it's place.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised if someone else finds some screws that just don't fit from a z1 kit. No, I haven't called and talked to them about this - not a big deal for me... I'm confident that if I had, they'd take care of me. Just an fyi

Every order I've placed from Z1 (four or five) has been shipped and received VERY quickly! I love that.

Ditto on the shipping. I ordered Thursday at 2:45pm and it was on my door Saturday 9:45am. Just regular old ground...thats fast!

It should include the oil pan bolts (at least, the last 850 kit I ordered from Z1 did).

Since the oil filter cover is held on with studs and nuts (or should be), these are not in the kit.

Thanks Bwringer. I have some SS allen bolts on side covers, but not on the valve and oil pan.

Just keep in mind that stainless fasteners will gall the threads in aluminum if you don't use Anti-Seize. Ray.
