A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

browsing kijiji and come across an ad for a 97 z1r. i responded within 15 min and received a response saying he had a deal on THEM. i asked the question what them and was told there were two 78 zeds that have been sitting for a while so i told the po if the other buyer doesnt show i am in. Luckey day friday i received the email first thing in the morn that they were not picked up. I loaded the trailer and picked them up Fri night.now i just need to figure out what i am gonna do with them.

Not sure what you paid for them but they are a rare find in the states these days. Interested in selling one or both?

I was not a big fan of the Z1R, which was one of the new generation superbikes being produced in '78, mainly because of the poor handling.
But a couple of those in my garage would probably worth some real dough.
They look to be in pretty good condition, and are still a great motorcycle.
I'd be willing to bet there's some serious collectors out there willing to pay some big bucks to get their hands on them. After all they were Kawasaki's flagship bike for that year.

They flooded the market with those & I was able to buy a new one for $2500.00 in 79, a friend crashed it and I bought a new 80 Z1R in 1980, had to pay twice of what I got the 78 for. Most of those were either crashed or stolen & sent over seas some where. They are indead a rare find these days.

I'm drooling

;)so what you guys are saying is $1500 wasnt too much for the pair.

No, it's not too much. I would consider buying them from you for 1600 and bam, you made a hundred bucks.

You sir, are a thief!
Richard Biggs in Guelph is a Kawi guru if you want to go custom.
i have offered to buy his several times and he shuts me down. but i have been in contact yesterday and now have a carrot to dangle and he is interested finally. His zed was in Cycle Can the month after my 1100E and i have been after it since

I'll take 2, pretty please. NICE bike.

I know a guy, a GS owner who has two Z1-R TC's in his kitchen. He had three, but someone talked him out of one. The blown ones were peppy.

I thought that they were neat looking back in the day.

no deal on the zeds, guess i have next winters project lined up. Gonna sell the one as i really dont need two.

Pulled the carbs on zed 1 and front bake calipers only to find the brand new front tire is too big and rubbing on the fender, pulled the wheel off zed2 and swapped. Cleaned out those 29 smoothies 5 bucks worth of gas and she fired right up. It's ****ing rain here but I had to take her up and down the street. It's been 20 plus years since I had my zed but it came back to me quick. Now it will be stored in my poolhouse until time allows

Not that I am abandoning the turbo kat but I just picked up an entire zx14 suspension setup with wheels brakes triples fender switches etc. What's wrong with me? By the way anybody looking for parts like these google Cory Lacroix. Great guy to deal with and these parts are all new never run

Nice!

I have always loved those, a friend has one tucked in his garage but won't give it up...

Are you going to put the 14 stuff on it?
