All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've not had much chance to get out for a ride (I'm getting cabin fever).

I can totally understand that, I started my rebuild on my 850 and was only planning to be down 2 months at the most then life decided to start throwing nothing but curve balls. Needless to say the bike just gives me the evil eye when I go in the shop...

Zooks,

How does one go about posting a comment on your blog?

All choices require me to sign in somewhere I don't belong to.

If you have a google account, that works. Opening a google account is easy and not too intrusive. I never get any spam from them. Just call up google and type "create google account" and pick a link.

Roads?

Roads?

Zooks, it looks like most of the roads are dead strait down in your part, and only the highways are paved. Is that the way it is?
Other than that, you got a decent job for sure: outside, 3 dimensional, returning landscape to OEM spec., far outside city and suburban crap, easy to get behind those concepts.
Have yet another nice day!

Yeah I love my job it's great. Although we do city / urban work as well as rural stuff. I've done everything from planting forests and restoring wetlands to planting a 'man made' rainforest on the roof of an apartment complex.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the road comment. Our roads are like any other. Some are twisty, some are straight, some are good, some are full of potholes. The only difference between us and you guys is less people/traffic (usually) and we drive on the left the same as the rest of the former Brit empire.

I thought I should let you all know that I haven't forgotten about the blog. It's been a couple of weeks since I posted on it but we've had almost continuous rain here lately. Australia is famed for being the land of extremes. We've gone from drought to flood in the last 6 months. Maybe I should take up waterskiing instead??

Anyway, I'll put another post up soon. I've been avoiding it because I want it to be a bike riding blog, not just general blah, blah.

It's been so long since I went for a ride I may forget how.

I'm going out the back now to build an ark.

How about some maps?

How about some maps?

Well I may never get there, but if you blokes could post some maps with good bike routs, that would key some interest here, and some debate among yourselves down under, I'll wager.
Bill

I have a few documented rides including maps on my site, Cruisin Down Under - one even made it into Australian Road Rider magazine!!

Will create a link to Zooks site I think!!

Congratulations are in order.

I see that you have managed to combine your newly acquired skills in water skiing with motorcycling.
I managed to sneak a photo of your practice session. :D

Thanks. I've not been out much in the last month or so. I hope to get back out soon and update the blog with some fresh pics.

It's been so long that I don't remember where I put my camera.

Cheers,

Yeah, we get some hot summers that's for sure. We are getting an early spring at the moment. Spring doesn't officially start until september but the last few weeks have been very warm and sunny.

I'll be updating the blog very, very soon - particularly now I've bought the 'new' GSX-R. :D

Great blog!

(I'm glad my 38 year old underwear is on the way out. Looking like swiss cheese.)

In the mid-seventies, after college, I thought I was going to go there and travel for a year or so.) Instead, I got sidetracked and here I am today, never having visited.
Your blog and the pics of one of my friends who is a pro photog, can keep me connected!
