How could I say anything but “absolutely”. Stator joined us very nice, if a bit chilly, afternoon Fall ride.

Years ago having been through the same situation as your son, Rich it's great to see that he's moving forward towards the return to riding.

When I had my accident 5 years ago I never once thought about not getting back on a bike...not once. And thankfully my wife never said "I don't want you to ride anymore". She knows that would kill me...
When I did take my first ride after 3 months I was still on crutches....first thing I did was ride to the intersection that I was hit in and rode through it.
Maybe I'm just too dumb to have not had any feelings of not riding again...lol

I've always got back on the hoss. Once or twice it's been quite a while later.

I took the 81 GS1100 to my favorite industrial road for some air fuel gauge readings. It has a quarter mile of 8' fence on one side, two small food product factories and a storage unit in front of a railroad on the other side. I wanted some wide open readings so I was rolling in second and went wide open, I checked the meter and noticed something moving next to me, I looked right and there was a young 6 point buck white tail deer apparently racing me. I won the race, turned around and came back to where I could watch him. I got one photo and missed 6 more while he was running past. He looks a lot smaller in the pic than he did in a side view running.
Thank goodness he didn't decide to turn in front of me.

Today, took my last ride at age 72.

                    42degF this afternoon and sunny.
So took the opportunity for my last ride at age 72.

S'pose to be colder and rainier the next few days, and is also that 4 letter word is in the forecast.
So I took that ride today.
Maybe back to mid 40s by the weekend, so maybe take a ride then. THen I'll be 73.

                    >>Later Note 1:
I'll appologize for the corny joke if you have seen it before.

                    >>Later Note 2:
I see the selfie photo shows the effectivness of the black tape on bottom of visor making a good sunblock.

I took the GS on a tour of a couple local counties through former strip mined areas, hit my favorite old Mom and Pop bike shop, and visited a friend who wasn't home.

Thanks Steve, here's the original 2012 (!!!) thread for those interested in the bike's restoration. I moved to Gainesville, FL in 2023, and it's now kept in a climate controlled garage. The 10 years in Miami Beach prior, were not kind to the old girl's alu bits (damn salt air...), but she still runs great. https://www.thegsresources.com/_foru...9-naked-cooley

I put the extra liner in the riding pants and will ride into town this morning around 730am. The forecast is for temps in the mid-20s. I'm planning on flipping the grip warmers on and hope they get hot before my pinkies start to hurt. I have big bulky thick gloves but I am looking at heated liners to wear under them. Everything else is protected but the fingers always seem to feel the cold.

                              I'm pushing it this year.

Never thought of black tape on the bottom of the visor. I do have a couple strips on the top though.
