GS550e What the heck? Is this by design or a pervious owners mistake?

When I pull the choke lever I get very little throttle movement. (Pic is choked) I found the throttle adjustment screw hits the choke linkage causing very little movement ability until unchoked.
Is this on purpose or put together wrong? Once I unchoke the throttle the adjust screw (blue arrow) can move past the choke clip.(red arrow)

I don't think the choke is ever supposed to interfere with throttle movement. Those darn pervious owners!

Can someone post a pic of a similar setup but "correct"?

Well the next owner can scratch their head at my fabrication if it was intended. I cut it down and placed a groove in it for a flat head to fit. No interference.

Hard to see but are the U shaped brackets backwards on the bar? Is the bar back to front?

I zoomed in and it looks like someone replaced the screws that are used to adjust the balance of the throttle plates on the carbs. Those balance screws are too long and will hit the choke rail. Need to install the OEM setup or get shorter screws.

See the post below on the screws I used to replace the OEM setup.

82 GS1100 GK. I got a carbtune so I could sync the carbs since I changed the exhaust. Works well and I was able to get them all very close. That is until I try to tighten the jam nuts holding the adjustment screws. Especially the #2 which is directly below the throttle cable bracket. It was an exercise in futility. Is there a

I cut it lower and also cut a slot in the screw to adjust it. Works fine now. Thanks for confirming it didn't belong.
