81 GS650G Head tapping when warm

My 650 has a tapping noise in the head from what sounds like cylinder 3, but only when the engine is being restarted from a warm condition and it only lasts about 10 seconds or so. The engine from cold never makes this sound and once it does go away I never hear it again even at idle till I stop it for a while and restart. Any ideas at what I should be looking for or what to do to remedy this problem? Thanks

Next time you go to start it from warm, don't use starter motor- get your self and bike on incline and bump start it to see it plays taps after this start method.
