How to polish engine case on my GS

How does one clean the Cases! Not the covers. Crankcase,cylinder,head without disassembly or soda blasting?

I have my clutch cover off now and want to do this while I have it off. Do you remove the oil level lens before using the stripper, or just mask it off?

One other question. Will I likely need a new gasket once I take the clutch cover off? Have done all the other pieces but have yet to polish this one

Thx I will try dig a clutch cover gasket up before tackling that side. not available oem by the looks of the fiche.

I wouldn’t try to remove the lens, just tape it off well with a couple layers of good tape.

And I’ve personally reused clutch cover gaskets before, if they’re in good shape, but they aren’t expensive to replace… less than the oil you might potentially drain and replace if you reuse and then have a leaky gasket.

Then again, if you’re careful and have the means to do so, you could tip the bike over on the right side so all the oil drains to the stator side and swap out a leaky gasket and not need to drain the oil from the pan too.
