Victoria BC to Woodstock Ontario

Hi Guys
Thought I would start a thread about my trip from my home in Victoria BC to my hometown of Woodstock (not the concert) Ontario. I'll post as I travel.
My dad passed away Feb 2021....the height of Covid and I was recovering from a bad motorcycle accident...doctors wouldn't let my fly home for dad's "covid funeral".
We are having a memorial service for dad July 22
So I have always wanted to ride back to Ontario and couldn't think of a better excuse to do it!
We are taking a more northern route there and it will take longer but much more interesting than the Prairies
What will make this trip even more special are the people riding with me home. Three friends that I grew up with in Woodstock but have lived out west for decades.
I'm leaving form Victoria BC then joining me in Vancouver is my buddy Bucky (Dave) and we will ride to Revelstoke BC to pick up Gee da bee (Gary)....I have know him for 40 years...he used to race AMA sidecars (he was the monkey) on the same weekends and tracks that legends Freddie Spencer, Wes Cooley (my hero), Kenny Roberts and Eddie Lawson etc...
Then we pick up my buddy Chuck in Banff Alberta...Chuck and I were roommates in our early 20s in Woodstock.
I leave on Monday July 4yth and we get to Northern Ontario Tuesday July 12th....we are meeting up at a friends cottage to arrive in time for an annual (26 years) motorcycle get together party with friends we grew up with riding when we were kids.
One of the places we are visiting on the way is just outside Flin Flon Manitoba....we are staying at a fishing lodge for two nights and have rented a pontoon boat and fishing guide for the day....that will be awesome!
I feel so blessed and privileged to have this opportunity.
My dad was a truck driver so my wife got a truck gremlin bell for me

I will be riding back with my dad's ashes....he loved a road trip.

Safe travels my friend. Going to miss you by a day. We're headed through Revelstoke on Sunday on the way to Sun Peaks. Is this a "Fat Bastards" ride again trip? Sorry, inside joke.

You guys will have a awesome trip/adventure! Shoot us some pictures along the way. What is your planned route home? Maybe we can meet up at one of your stops. Take it easy and ride fast:)

Haha...yes....Furious Bastards :)

Got an early start catching the 6am ferry. Riding straight through to Banff today about 940kms… I guess I’ll know after today whether or not my bike is comfortable. Lol

Safe travels. I will pray to the deity or element of your choice to keep your path free of deer, caribou, moose, bears, and chupacabras. Almost hit a deer on Saturday, near downtown Harrisburg. Car in front of me hit it. Glad I wore the brown pants. After we both pulled off into a parking lot, I told the lady. "this is going to sound terrible, but, better you than me." She agreed. Her Jeep SUV taking her family from upstate NY to somewhere in VA had reached the end of it's journey. Front end bashed in, leaking coolant. I hope the Fort Hunter park security lady that came by put the deer out of it's misery.

Be safe. Looking forward to pics and stories.

Well made it to Banff… left my house at 5am and got here at 9pm (lost an hour time zone)
936kms… having to take a ferry off the island really slows thing up.
beautiful day with no rain. Bike ran great! Saw one black bear, a mountain goat on the side of the road and a bunch of deer.
more to come

He probably doesn't have a computer connection. Or, maybe he's with friends and family and posting on GS Resource is not a priority of his... I bet the second one.;)

Lol…you guys are funny! I’m at my cousins cottage in Stokes Bay Ontario 5300kms we averaged just over 800kms a day.
went fishing outside Flin Flon Manitoba caught three pike and the boys all caught at least one too.
I hit a deer outside Kenora Ontario I was doing around 115kmph and it was running out of a bush to my left…bush and long grass ditch…never saw it coming…it right in front of me and my front tire clipped his rear hoof as he galloped by… crazy.
A couple of moose crossed in front of us outside Cold Lake Alberta and one bear outside Banff Alberta

Wow, that sounds a lot better than a pickup running a red light. How many performance awards????

Effin deer. Hope all is well.
Trevor, my late father's birthday is 7/22 so definitely a good date. Hope things can still go as planned.
