DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Me too rob, Murdoch was a close 2nd for me. that bike and those 6 pipes just always stand out.

Have you noticed the price of eggs lately?
I think a couple of us might be on to something... :)

Lots of really great shots this week.but I am going with Steve Murdoch. A well framed shot suitable for framing. A pic that was so many's second choice does not deserve a goose egg.Trevor nailed the theme best and Rich's ;packing style warms my heart.

Good morning fine folks of the GS RESOUCE family! It's Saturday morning time to tally up the votes!

A great turnout this week. 13 entries and 14 votes!

Jumping to receiving THREE votes.

Excellent job guys!

And now, picking up FOUR VOTES AND THE WIN...... Drum roll please....
RICH82GS750TZ CONGRATULATIONS RICH !!!!

Rich, I'm curious what road you're going to send us down for next weeks Pic of the Week contest?

Any zeros? Yes about a half dozen.
With eggs being about $8.00 a dozen, we're all winners!
:)

Thanks all. Weird what people like. That was a last minute, Thursday hail-Mary post. A real throw-away shot taken only to document my idiocy, and to help me remember how I bungeed things together. Which would be helpful if it worked, maybe more helpful if it failed.
for the next theme, Tracks. Interpret however you like.

Boy this is a hard one for me....we actually don't have a single train on the entire island. This was several years ago going over the Cascades in Washington on out way to the GSR rally in John Day Or.

One of my favorite race TRACKS to hang out at. Pittsburgh International Raceway in Wampum Pennsylvania.

Trestle is 420 ft x 35ft high. built in 1900. Hamilton Mich.

Being the exciting knowlodgable fellow that I am , I can say why it is that many rail road bridges have a second set of rails.
If you were to ask, you would then know I am really a boring ol' man.

I assume that it's something to do with stability but there are also different sizes of track?

THe outter tracks are the normal guage the train runs on. The additional tracks on the inside are not really tracks, but are more like guard rails for if the train were to "derail" off the rail, the wheels will then be riding on the ground and ties, but the extra rail is to keep the train from going any further away, that is, to keep the train from going closer to the edge or from going over the edge.

I could show you more pictures of other bridges/trestles/hillsides that also have the addition rail(s). And I could tell you how I had been puzzled by these. ANd I could tell you about how and when I found the answer . . . . . but that would be too much like a "boring ol' man".
