A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Postings to the For Sale and Wanted sections will be deleted 90 days after the initial posting date if there has been no activity to the thread in the last 7 days. This is done to eliminate dead posts from the forum.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Krauser Saddlebags

1000-M-CF

Forum Newbie
In my treasures I found a pair of Krauser saddlebags. The rear rack and brackets are with them,.I also have keys. They were on my Gs1000. They need a new home. I'll give them to you, They are in Steubenville, OH. Anyone interested?

Pics would be great. Might be able to fit them on my 750. But I don’t know what they look like. If you have trouble posting pics to the forum, could you email some?
rrodichok@gmail.com. Or text to 570-768-5627. Might be worth the drive.

I'll take them if they are still available. I can pick them up in person. I'm right here in Youngstown.
Private message sent.

Edit: Rich has first dibs on them. Sorry Rich for jumping in.

Saddlebags are claimed. I will pick up next week. If I can’t make them work, I will pass them to Norm. Thanks, Tom!

Great. Tom (1000-M-CF) also asked about grabbing a meal. I will likely be by myself (wife doesn't want to waste the day in the car). So maybe the 3 of us can get together. Planning sometime around noon on Sat. 10/18. I'll be in touch

Thanks Tom! I think it’s going to work out. If you or anyone else has any ideas about the rear brackets mountings please let me know.

I had those on a previous GS1000 and firstly the bags sat much more hortizontal and the bracket did in fact attach to the license plate holder. Short stubby aftermarket signals will fit where you're pointing. If you could drop the rear of the bags would that get you closer to attaching to to the plate holder? Either way you're probably just going to have fab a rear bracket. Otherwise looks and you're going love those bags.

Thanks Sandy. I too think they need to be a bit more horizontal. To do that I need to fab longer bars to the top shock mounts. I’ll make some that are adjustable for mock up and adjust til I get the rear brackets to the license plate slots.

Ahhh! Much better. Just a note to make sure you always lock the when using them. Some say their notorious for falling off. I never had that problem but I always made sure they were locked on. Possibly the seatbelt style attaching points can work themselves loose and locking prevents that. They do stick out and catching them on car bumper will most definitely rip a lid off.

Yeah that looks like what I had on the 1000G. Setup looks about right. Mine had stock turn signals with shortened stems that I believe were supplied with the cases when new. Great set of bags. :)
