A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The internet says that technically, Temu is not a scam. I beg to differ.

If anyone has had any successful, legitimate dealing with Temu, speak up.

Surprise, suprise! "Jeff", from Chile, just joined today. I know we'll all want to welcome him.

Have you seen their roulette-type wheel? (Blocks the entire screen.) Spin, and you might win a free spin! :dancing:

S/H?

We have been blessed with two multi-post spammers in a twelve hour period. I think I got them all taken down but please flag if you find more. I am not sure what is going on but I will definitely need help catching them all if this keeps up.

"Temu is a legitimate e-commerce platform, not an outright scam, but shopping on it comes with considerable risks and mixed customer experiences. It is owned by the Chinese company..."

So says the internet. "Owned by (a) Chinese company" is all I need to hear. What is worse than an "outright scam"?

A couple years ago when Temu showed up I took a chance and bought a cheap forge. Was notified when it was shipped and a month later no forge…contacted the co. they said I should go looking for it, not my responsibility, they sent me another one. After opening it up I found the propane connection was wrong, I sent a pic of what I received and the type of connection that was needed. Turns out the forge I was sent had a European connection. I said just send me the fitting and we were good…they sent me another forge, that day I get a call from a house a mile down the road. They had a package addressed to me, I went and retrieved it.

You guessed it it was the first forge sent. That is my temu experience. Three forges for the price of one.

Just one experience with them. Got a couple coffee mugs for Christmas presents last year.

Got the merchandise, received it within what I consider a reasonable time, price was not bad at all.

Scam? Not really, but I will say that their marketing practices do leave a LOT to be desired.

I do not know what difference there may be be between USA and Canada, but I have no complaints.

My wife started buying children's things from them about two years ago.

I have made perhaps ten purchases since then.

Do not expect high-end merchandise. It might be available, but I have not seen it.

Much of what they sell is cheaper than similar products from, say, Amazon, but sometimes it is more expensive than full retail, so you should do some checking before purchase.

They operate similarly to Amazon or Best Buy, etc., warehousing many products, while offering items from independent suppliers that may ship directly to you.

Some of it is worth little as it is such poor quality, but their guarantee is solidly good.
If the product is faulty or not what it was advertised as being, their guarantee is one of the best available. Full refund and free return shipping.
(sometimes they just tell you to keep the product and either give you a full refund or you can use the amount to cover future purchases.)

EG:
I bought two really cheap wrist watches for my 5yo son. The strap broke off at the attachment point in the first week on one, so .
I sent them photos and tried to return both watches but was told to just keep them and they gave me a full refund.

As said, above, no complaints.

Aliexpress is a fabulous website. Anything you see on Amazon can be got there usually identical product.
small things ship cheap due to insane universal postal union discounting of China post fees. You wait longer but bezos loses his skim layer.

Difficult to argue with that.
My wife ordered a part for her KIA
Se paid the dealer $226 but it was back-ordered and the dealer had no idea when it might arrive.

Got it in two weeks from Ali Express, with OEM part number...shipped from Korea ....$48.60...including shipping and Cdn taxes...

Dealer refunded her payment.
